"A dream is a wish your heart makes....." so goes the famous song from Walt Disney's "Cinderella." Here is a dream castle that will enthrall your little princess. Manufactured by Playmobil from 1998-05, this #3019 Fairy Tale Castle comes complete with all of its original contents. I've painstakingly accounted for every piece and this offering is 100% complete. (NOTE: Someone the soldier/guard stepped out of the Castle and missed being in the photo. You will be receiving him and his gold halberd with this offering). This is a set that is highly coveted by collectors and children alike. It was retired in 2005 and replaced by a smaller, less intricate castle (e.g. Playmobil's 4250 Magic Castle with Princess Crown).
The Fairy Tale Castle resembles Cinderella's Castle at Disney World with its three floors, deep blue turrets and gold finials, lattice covered windows, a sweeping spiral staircase that connects all of the floors, a secret hiding place under the blue curved roof, and curved white railings throughout. This castle is a delight.... both visually and in extended play scenarios. I've included an array of photos showing this Castle fully assembled.
The Castle comes complete with a mesmerizing blue chandelier that hangs suspended over the entrance to the castle room. The castle room itself comes with a VHTF white and blue peacock- shaped throne, a VHTF colorful carpet gracing the area in front of the throne, the elaborately garbed King and his Consort, the Queen, a Royal Guard with a VHTF golden halberd and the King's colors on a hand-held flag. Decorations include elaborate golden "mirrors," fancy candelabra's, and a beautiful array of flowers scattered throughout the castle and in the RARE lavender flower pots perched on the stairway posts.
The only "imperfections" I can find on this Castle are:
1. Some minor discoloration on the edge of the front steps; this occurred in many of these sets; it was caused by excess sun exposure;
2. Some minor discoloration on the white curved railings; I've provided multiple pictures so you can see this for yourself;
3. Some mild-moderate discoloration on some of the single, double, and "L" shaped white pillars; this is not a universal phenomenon; and
4. Some minor discoloration on the back edge of some of the larger, semi-circular pieces (e.g. the ones that form the "bump outs" for the middle of the Castle).
I do not detect any discoloration on the main portions of any of the pink pieces. I'm being super "nit-picky" here as I do not wish to disappoint any of my customers.
This is a sturdy structure. It features Playmobil's renowned System X System (e.g. both red and yellow connectors that lock into place using the special key tool). These connectors securely anchor all the walls, turrets, floors, stairways etc. together for uninterrupted play. The Xeroxed instructions illustrate two different ways that the castle may be configured but the possibilities are endless. The set, when assembled, is approximately 31"H x 29" W. Manufactured in Germany in 1998, this set belies Playmobil's world renowned quality and outstanding play value.
Playmobil also offered a series of "add-on" sets that were sold separately and could be added to furnish the castle itself. I have many of these other sets available for sale.
This is a fabulous set and one to provide many years of fun. It should not be given to children still mouthing their toys or under 3 years of age.
This was one of my daughter's favorite Playmobil sets. She played with it for years (e.g. between 5-13 years of age). (No, I'm not selling her set; she wants to keep it for when she has her own children:) Before they limited the number of bags one could carry on board an aircraft, I hauled this entire Castle and many of its add-on sets to our vacation destination 1500 miles away. You should have seen the expressions on the TSA inspectors. They even pried the dragon's mouth open to see if I had concealed a bomb inside. Finally, someone laughed and said, "Oh, she's a toy collector!" and let me through security.
Enchant your "princess" with a castle of her own. You won't be disappointed!
This set is heavy (@ 14 1/2 lbs. unwrapped). It will be shipped unassembled from my home in Lafayette, IN 47905.
