Vintage, mid 1900, lathe turned and carved wood wooden butter print having a carving depicting an eagle with its wings next to its body and its chest shaped as a shield with stripes. The print has a knob shaped handle which is integral to the piece. The print measures ~3 3/4" in diameter at the design part and is ~2 3/4" high. The piece weighs slightly over 3 ounces. The piece is in excellent condition with no repairs, or losses. The entire piece appears to be carved from a single piece of wood. The handle and back show some minor wear and light soiling. The front shows light discoloration to the wood, which can be seen in the photos. It also shows scratches which we believe are original to the making. The design is clean suggesting the piece did not see much use, but rather was cherished by its previous owner. The piece has no cracks, breaks, hairlines, or repairs. It has no losses and looks great. Please see photos for additional condition information.
