On DVD or VHS:

This is undoubtedly one of the rarest of finds: SECRETARIAT's entire televised June 30, 1973, Arlington Invitational race broadcast run just three weeks after his smashing Belmont victory becoming racing's ninth-only Triple Crown winner after a 25-year drought.

SECRETARIAT scared off most of the competition having only three challengers for this race (MY GALLANT, OUR NATIVE and BLUE CHIP DAN) that's shown in its entire televised broadcast coverage...complete with all the pre and post-race footage with the complete race shown from gate to wire...without a doubt a VERY RARE PIECE!!

Watch the mighty chestnut thunder home under the wire nine lengths in front of his closest rival - smoking the field. Also shown at the end of the actual coverage is a very limited film of the race again taken from different angles that Arlington Race Course actually took with their own team of cameramen. This black and white footage shows SECRETARIAT coming out of the tunnel to join the post-parade on his way to the starting gate; the entire race and also the after-race trek that SECRETARIAT, RON TURCOTTE on board, and groom EDDIE SWEAT take across the infield; of SECRETARIAT being "cooled out" and having his face mask taken off (of which he looks noticeably relieved) by EDDIE SWEAT and then being lead into the winner's circle amongst raving reviews from the announcer SECRETARIAT, of course, is basking amongst all this attention and is in gallant form as he meambles about swishing his gorgeous tail from side to side - a real gem for the serious SECRETARIAT fan's collection or just about anyone who has an appreciation for perfection in motion!

But WAIT...AS AN ADDED BONUS... SECRETARIAT's September 15, 1973, Marlboro Cup race run at Belmont Park is also included! Watch as SECRETARIAT avenges ONION in another fine display of power down the backstretch as he breaks another track record. Other great horses of that year and future legends in their own right that also showed up to haplessly take aim at SECRETARIAT that day included his famous and much-loved stable mate, RIVA RIDGE, ANIHILATE 'EM, KEY TO THE MINT, KENNEDY ROAD and COUGAR II - a virtual, "Who's Who", of racing...simply a classic and unforgettable timeless race for the ages! This race is shown in its entirety from gate-to-wire with original track calls...another extremely rare piece!
