Cain brought to the simple beauty of the world around him. In his watercolors Marlo revealed the ever changing facets of nature and invited the viewer into the tranquility of quiet times, evoking contemplation and contentment. Marlo worked for the Milwaukee Jour- nal/Sentinel Art Department as a staff illustrator for over thirty one years until his retirement in 1990. He was active in the Milwaukee and Cedarburg arts commu- nity throughout his life and his paintings have appeared in numerous publications throughout the country. Marlo's talented interpretations brought numerous Best-of-Shows and Purchase Awards at major art fairs in the Midwest. A Milwaukee Fine Arts Commission's Award was presented to him for a painting that now hangs in the City Hall, Mayor's Office. Marlo was certified by the State of Wisconsin to be a judge of Cultural Fine Arts, and served in that capacity many times throughout the state. His paintings have traveled throughout the state with "Watercolor Wisconsin" a major juried show. Many art organizations and schools requested his services in judging and giving demonstrations to their groups Biographical Brief Marlo D.
