Hang on to your hats!!! Here for your consideration is an STUNNING piece of Americana---Fisher Price's #937 Play Family Sesame St. Clubhouse Play Set! Produced between 1977-79, this play set is highly coveted by collectors and children alike. It's EXCEEDINGLY RARE to find one of these play sets with 99% of its original pieces and in this condition (EXC++).  The only piece missing in this offering is the tire swing.  This feature often is missing on the sets---leaving a sharp spring or just the "chains" of the swing.  This particular base has had the entire swing apparatus removed.  If the tire swing were present, I would rate this overall set as being in NEAR MINT-MINT condition.

With a few modifications, the plastic Sesame St. Clubhouse base was essentially the forerunner of the later Fisher Price #934 Western Town. The Sesame St. Clubhouse featured 14 original pieces and innumerable play opportunities. This base includes a playground with a built-in curlicue slide and merry-go-round, a rotating perch for Big Bird on top of the building, a revolving green door in the rear to help characters appear and disappear, a secret trap door for quick exits, and a moving "walk way" that propelled the Sesame St. figures down a chute to the slide. All the play pieces could be stored inside the base by lifting the blue roof flap.  

ALL of the original EXTERIOR lithos are in remarkable condition (EXC++--NEAR MINT)! The lithos are bright and crisp.  They're ABSOLUTELY FREE of any marks, tears, punctures, or fading!!!!! After repeated examinations, the ONLY "imperfections" I can detect are:

1.  Some rubs on the lower, left-hand edge of the main Fisher Price logo (NOTE:  the "mark" seen in my photos over the main Fisher Price logo is due to a stray hair that escaped my notice until I examined my photos);

2.  A handful of bubbles sprinkled on the ABC and rear lithos on the Sesame St. Clubhouse base; these are minor in nature and not readily seen.

I'm being super "nit-picky" in my description as I don't want any of my customers to be disappointed with their purchase from me.  Many of these "flaws" are not apparent until you hold the base up within 3" of your eyes and rotate it in the light.  They definitely do not detract from the overall appearance or function of this base.

The plastic surfaces are likewise in great shape.  Other than the missing tire swing, all of the plastic surfaces are in NEAR MINT condition. The colors are ARRESTING. All moving parts operate as designed (e.g. when you crank the red handle, Big Bird's nest revolves, the walk way scoots the Sesame St. characters towards the slide, the merry-go-round effortlessly spins etc. etc.). If the missing swing was present, this plastic base would warrant a MINT rating.  It's that outstanding.

Accompanying this PHENOMENAL base are some EXCEEDINGLY RARE pieces UNIQUE TO THIS SET. Topping off this DELIGHTFUL set is a full complement of all the original Sesame St. characters featured in this play set. You will be receiving the following VHTF or RARE accessories, many of which are UNIQUE to this particular play set and are in EXC+++--MINT condition:

1 RARE yellow slide;

1 RARE yellow cable drum;

1 VHTF blue barrel;

1 VHTF red barrel;

1 VHTF yellow barrel;

1 VHTF red wagon; and

1 HTF black/red jump rope.

You will also be receiving all of the endearing, and in many cases HTF or VHTF, Sesame St. characters.  These figures range from VG++ (Roosevelt Frankling), to EXC (Grover), to MINT (Bert, Ernie, the Count, and Big Bird).

I can't emphasize enough how hard it is to assemble one of these sets with the quality pieces like I've done here for you. I've been working for almost a year to put this set together. I've scoured the United States and Canada for the best pieces possible to put together this exceptional offering.

I will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaning this base and all of its accessories prior to shipping it to its new owners. I use a variety of cleaning products (e.g. Dawn Liquid Soap with anti-bacterial ingredients, Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, Soft Scrub, Goo Gone, Crayon Away etc. etc.). I spend a MINIMUM of 1 - 1 1/2 hours cleaning each and every Vintage Fisher Price play set I sell (except for those in my "Rough Room"). Whatever time it takes, I clean these sets till they're IMMACULATE. Some sets I've spent up to 6 hours just cleaning the base! All you need to do when you purchase one of my sets is to unwrap it and bring it out for play or display.

Remember, these Vintage Fisher Price play sets were not part of the recent recall of toys made in China. These vintage sets were made in the U.S.A.

Children under the age of 3 or those still mouthing their toys should not be allowed to play with these sets unsupervised as they contain small parts.

Yes, you can find cheaper sets but not of this caliber, completeness, or cleanliness. This is an exceptional set--one worthy to pass down in the family! I'm not trying to gouge people but I do need to recover my costs in assembling this set.

This would make a TERRIFIC gift for a beginning Fisher Price collector or some lucky child. Don't tarry and allow this set to disappear from view.
