The Winter Troika nesting doll is a beautiful symbol of Old Russia with this Troika, or three-horse sleigh, taking the riders on a cold night ride. Two of the sleighs glide past a Russian Orthodox church with golden onion style domes. These images are reproductions of the original hand painting by Irina Kummer. The designs are skillful blends of hand painting and reproduction artworks printed on vinyl and artfully applied to the dolls. Then the dolls have multiple layers of non-toxic water-based lacquer applied. The designs are done at the Golden Cockerel art studio in St. Petersburg, Russia.
