This is a lovely vintage Sterling Silver figural brooch or pin made in Taxco, Mexico. The craftmanship is wonderful. The design is a large grape leaf and a small bunch of grapes. There is a stem or vine tendril that peeks out at the top and bottom of the leaf. It measures approximately 2 1/8 inches by 1 ¾ inches. It weighs .4 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 11.34 grams. It is hallmarked with the Eagle shield with the 3 inside, which represents Taxco and FP 92. The Eagle mark was discontinued in the early 1980s and the registration numbers were used since 1980, so this is most likely from the early 1980s. The 1st letter the F identifies a location and the 2nd letter is the first letter of the artist's last name. The 92 stands for the 92nd person to be registered using the letters FP.

It is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. It has that lovely patina that only comes with age. I have not polished it, I leave that up to you if you so desire. The pin on the back is a rollover safety clasp closure and is intact and secure.

This would make a great addition to your vintage Mexican jewelry collection, perfect for everyday wear with your favorite pair of jeans or as an accent in the V of that little black dress.
