The now deceased relative who had this in her box of needlework projects, was born in the late 1800s. She was in a nursing home from the 1980s and all her things have been in storage until now.

She was quite skilled in sewing, crafts and needlework including embroidery and crochet. This appears to be one of her handmade pieces.

They measure 11 by 4.5 inches.  They were evidently made to be either doilies or mats or perhaps to be sewn into a larger piece.

They show signs of aging and discoloration and damage and need repair, cleaning, starching, blocking or whatever is appropriate for the project in mind.
