Purchased by my friend in 1983, this is a pair of VINTAGE, Excellent Condition, Hand-Crafted "Hand Carved Dende Coconut Palm Nut Diamond Shaped Seed Bead & Silver Dangles Wire Hook Pierced Ear Earrings" handmade in Peru.  Worn occasionally over the past 30+ years, she has TOO MUCH Jewelry and MUST Downsize!  Her LOSS can be your GAIN!  They are in EXCELLENT Condition with NO marks, stains, scratches, chips, cracks, missing beads, missing dangles or other damage; they come from a smoke-free, pet-free home.  Hung from Silver pierced ear wire hooks, these LONG Earrings have a drop of approximately 4 inches and a width of approximately 7/8ths of an inch; they are NOT Marked or Signed.  Each Earring has Red & Black Clay beads suspended in the center of the Diamond Shaped Coconut focal point, with 3 strands of natural Seed Beads dangling below; all ending with a Silver dangle.

These Earrings were hand crafted by a talented Peruvian Jewelry Artist who created a BEAUTIFUL pair of Earrings.  The EARTHY colors of the Seed Beads and Tumbled Dende Coconut are enhanced by the natural shine of the Silver, combining to create a GORGEOUS pair of Earrings!  You will feel like a Goddess or an Incan Princess when you wear these UNUSUAL, One-Of-A-KIND, Hand Made Dangle Earrings.  From Island Fashion to Beach Bohemian, from casual to work, and from the club to a party, even with that little black dress, these Earrings feature a FABULOUS design and are light weight and comfortable to wear.  Here are Coconuts transformed to add an ELEGANT touch to your daily attire.  Accessorize everything in your closet with these hand carved, 100% natural, ethnic Earrings.

Coconut jewelry has been made for generations by people in the rainforests and coasts of South America.  The three types of coconut used in the production of Jewelry are known as palm nuts. The Pati (pah-chee), the Dende (den-day), and the Piasava (pee-ah-sava) palm nuts are related to the Tagua nut of Africa,  also known as vegetable ivory.  When tumbled and polished these types of coconuts reveal the beautiful colors that lay hidden beneath their raw outer surface. The Dende Coconut, closely related to the Licuri palm nut, exhibits a much deep brown complemented by light beige streaks.  Thus, Jewelry created from one coconut has a unique signature because every coconut is unique.
