This is the larger of the two Pearl China Co. piggy banks that we have.  It is not marked but all of the characteristics are there.  Large red flowers with green centers and leaves are on either side of the bank. Smaller red buds are on the top of the bank. Typically, the eyes, nostrils, mouth, tail and 'feet' are painted red.  Due to age, use, and paint processing the red paint is rubbed off in spots.  There is some marring at the money slot on the top of the bank but other than that the piggy bank is in good condition.  One for the collector!

The Pearl China Co., known primarily as a selling company, had a direct connection with Pioneer Pottery Co. from the mid 1930s to 1958 in East Liverpool, Ohio.  It was not uncommon for a selling company to have control of or own a pottery company in order to expand its product line.

The measurements are:  9 inches long, approximately 4 1/2 inches wide, 4 1/4 inches tall.
