Well-preserved magazine from my lifelong collection. At age 82, I am reluctantly willing to part with quite a few books, magazines and music that I have treasured over the years.
THE ETUDE Music Magazine, June, 1936
Features a conference with Leopold Godowsky on the topic, "Background in Music Study." Like other issues of this magazine, includes both music and outstanding articles.
Just a sample of the music included in this issue:
- "Good Morning! Good Morning! How Are You Today?" by Alexander Bennett; "Fairy Kisses" by Mildred Adair; and "Pop Corn" by E. Weddell-Roberts -- all intended for "Junior Etude Readers."
- Mathilde Bilbro's "Changeable Weather" -- inspired by April weather.
- Charles Gilbert Spross's "Allegro Con Brio"
- Eugene F. Marks's "Polka Caprice" -- recommended as a "stepping stone to the more difficult concert polkas."
63 clean, unmarked pages. The large size of this magazine (measuring approximately 10 1/2 inches by 13 1/4 inches) prevented me from scanning the entire cover in a single pass, so you will see one image of approximately the top 60% of the cover and a second image of approximately the bottom 60% of the cover.
I will be offering to sell several issues of The Etude from the 1930's, in unusually good condition for publications of this type and age.
This magazine has been kept since I acquired it in a dry, smoke free home office. Clean and complete, slight signs of age and use but still in very good condition.
For more than 20 years I have been selling not only books, magazines and sheet music, but also various collectible, commemorative and historical items from my lifetime collections (total of about 25,000 sales) with a 100% satisfaction guarantee for every item.
