Early American Cookie Jar, also known as the 76 Milk Can. Manufactured by McCoy. Circa 1972-77. The jar was made prior to the Bicentennial during the 70's. The Bicentennial 1776-1976 brown drip cookie jar has flat top lid and sqaure handle on the lid. Two stubby handles on the body. Liberty bell with 1776 imprinted above bell and 1976 imprinted below the bell. On the opposite side of the body is a shield with 76 written on it. Has a couple of teeny glaze and pottery bumps from manufacturing process. No cracks, chips, or scratches. The bottom is impressed McCoy, Lancaster Colony mark, USA 154. It measures 6 1/2 inches in diameter and is 7 3/4 inches across the handles. With the lid on, it is 10 1/8 inches tall and without the lid is 8 3/4 inches.
