Customer Reviews Synopsis
This little vintage fish is absolutely charming and in excellent condition. it has all the qualities I am looking for when I am searching for this type of collectible.
Perfect order. Very happy.
This is an unusually nice brooch by miracle. It has a richness to it, that gives it a vintage appearance. It's a little too small to wear as a fly plaid brooch, but makes for a good kilt or tam pin.
A.B. Frost was one of the main illustrators for Joel Chandler Harris' The Songs and Sayings of Uncle Remus. His portrayal of Bre'r Rabbit, as nearly more man than rabbit, is a reminder that the stories of Bre'r Rabbit's exploits have a human characteristic, while being "Rabbit" enough to allow the material to be more animalistic at times. The illustrations are beautiful, and reflect an interesting period in the cultural history of the American South.
The brooch pin I received was as faithful a recreation of those illustrations as anyone could ask for. I do not know how they made it, but it is of a sturdy construction and solid materials. It is a totally faithful reproduction of one of Frost's more iconic drawings of Bre'r Rabbit.
The clasp mechanism on the back is well made and solid. I wear the pin on a baseball cap right now, with plans of eventually wearing it on other items such as a leather jacket. I do not know it the pin part of the clasp is strong enough to pierce leather, but it very well may be.
I was and am extremely satisfied with this product. I will be keeping an eye out for other products from this seller.
This brooch was exactly as described. I am very pleased!
