Item description

The Dracula Scrapbook Edited by Peter Haining, Forward by Christopher Lee. 1976 First Edition, Bramhall House, New York. Hardcover with Dust Jacket, 176 pages. Not to be confused with Kurt Brokaw's "A Night in Transylvania: the Dracula Scrapbook" which isn't so rare and isn't the same book at all. Haining's The Dracula Scrapbook is a potpourri of interesting tidbits about the most famous vampire of them all, including related infamous bloodsuckers like Countess Elizabeth Bathory. This book is notable for Christopher Lee's take on Dracula, along with a wide variety of ILLUSTRATIVE CONTENT, in both photographs and drawings. Although this book is pre-Anne Rice, pre-Twilight and pre-Goth in general, it still covers plenty- Dracula (and other vampires) on film, in literature, plays, comic books, cartoons, television and more. While certainly not the definitive book on Dracula or the Dracula legend, it offers some text and pictorial content you might not find elsewhere. This book was reprinted in 1987 (softcover) and again in 1992 (hardcover) and both of those editions are also OUT OF PRINT. This 1976 edition is VERY SCARCE. This 1976 FIRST EDITION is an ex-library copy with some minor markings. The dust jacket has been mylar covered. Overall, VERY GOOD. Nice copy of a hard to find collectible. 8 1/2" x 12" x 3/4"
