Item description

Nathan Englander - Collection of two early STORY Literary Magazine issues! Contents: Early important author's works, including first published work by Englander, featured in STORY magazine: ("Reb Kringle" - Winter 1997, and "The Twenty-Seventh Man" - Summer 1998). These two short stories are some of his first fiction published in a national publication - very collectible for a critically acclaimed, recent important writer. Englander was awarded the 2000 PEN/Faulkner Malamud Award and the American Academy of Arts and Letters Sue Kauffman Prize, for his first novel, For the Relief of Unbearable Urges, published in 1999. Since the publication of For the Relief of Unbearable Urges, he has received a number of awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Bard Fiction Prize, and a fellowship at the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers at the New York Public Library. Book Description: Cincinnati: F W Publications. Editor: Lois Rosenthal.
