Item description

THE INNKEEPER’S DAUGHTER by Barbara Cohen, copyright 1979. Published by Lothrop, Lee Shepard Books, a division of William Morrow Company, Inc. Pictorial Hardcover, no dust jacket. Stated First Beech Tree edition, 1990. 5 1/4" x 8" tall, 159 pages (11 chapters). An ex-library book, the Pictorial Hard cover is in good condition with very minor scuffing of edges. No writing or markings noted on the pages, only librarian note inside back cover from which the card pocket has been removed - area was then covered with masking (?) tape. From the back cover: The Waterbridge Inn may be a great place to visit, but Rachel Gold sure wishes she didn't have to live there. Rachel's well fed--maybe a little too well fed--but that hardly makes up for all the times she has to make polite conversation with obnoxious guests or give up her room to Mr. Jensen, a regular customer who obviously has eyes on Rachel's widowed mother. And it's awfully hard to feel at home when the enormous old painting Mrs. Gold has hung downstairs seems to be watching Rachel's every move. WORLDS APART by Jill Murphy, copyright 1988. Published by G.P. Putnam's Sons, New York, 1988. ISBN 0-399-21566-2 Pictorial Hardcover, no dust jacket. A presentation of Especially for Girls Weekly Reader Books/ First American edition, 1988. A chapter book of 127 pages, it measures 5 1/2" x 8" tall. Book is in really good condition - but it does have "Education Department" stamped on both the front and back endpapers; back endpapers have very light orange markings - looks like a fine point highlighter was used; some shelf wear and rubbing along the cover's edges. From the Back Cover: "Please, won't you tell me about my father?" asked Susan. It is the eve of Father's Day and eleven-year-old Susan Hunter has gathered up all her courage to ask her mother about the father she has never known. Her mother finally breaks the silence on the subject as she tells Susan about her father, an aspiring actor. Learning about her father is not enough for Susan. Instead she has come up with a daring plan to find him. Susan Hunter is about to embark on a quest.
