Item description

We are pleased to offer for your consideration this lovely black and white RPPC (Real Photo Postcard) view of the Mittersill Club (now known as the Mittersill Alpine Resort) in Franconia, NH. Mittersill Alpine Resort on Cannon Mountain, was founded by the Baron Hubert von Pantz in 1945, the Mittersill Alpine Resort and Village has a Tyrolean heritage and traces its roots directly from the aristocracy of Austria. Today the Mittersill Club is known by the name Mittersill Alpine Resort and is under the management of a new owner. Yet it still is primarily an Alpine Ski Resort during the Winter and a tourist resort during the summer months. Ansco, along with EKO were the only two manufacturers of RPPC Photographic postcard stock after 1955. In comparing past views of the Resort to this view, it would be safe to assume that this postcard was made during the late 1940's, when the resort was just beginning business. It has grown enormously and has undergone numerous renovations and expansions in the years since this view was taken. The front of this card features a view of the lodge with only 2 stories and a one story ell. the area around the lodge is clear cut of all the trees to allow for skiing right up to the lodge. There is an inscription at the bottom of the card which reads, "Mittersill Club Franconia N.H." The back of the card is a divided back card with no division line. The Ansco stamp box bears the two stars top and two bottom and the words, "PLACE STAMP HERE", and the name Ansco on both sides of the box. This card is in excellent condition with no corner bumps or creases and minimal yellowing from age and almost zero fading. This card will look great in your collection of Ansco RPPC's, RPPC's of NH, Cannon Mt, Mittersill Alpine Resort/Club, and Franconia, NH.
