Item description

Is it another boulder among the others? No . . . look at his eyes. That's a being peering through the grass. His brooding presence adds gravity and a contemplative atmosphere to your garden. Now that you have seen him, you belong to him. He is unique. For millenia he took his basic form through the natural forces of wind, wave, glacial ice, and grinding stone, an ancient artifact assisted from his native limestone by the sculptor. Still, he is subject to eternal natural forces. The artist is William Strunk of Lexington, Kentucky. He works primarily in stone, but also with metal and clay. He is currently engaged in accelerating the natural world's sculptural activities and uncovering the ancient artifacts contained within the stone. The finishing of the stone sculptural works take a period of years as the action of water, algae, moss, wind and sun obscure the marks of the chisel and make them an integral part of the artifact's continued development in the natural environment. Delivery arrangements will be made between buyer and seller at the time of sale.
