Item Description

This lovely sugar bowl is decorated with pink roses, leaves and golden scrolls. The handles and feet are painted gold. It was probably used for sugar cubes. It would make a great mint bowl or trinket dish. The bowl is about 5 inches wide (handle to handle) by 2 1/4 inches high (at highest point) and 2 3/8 inces wide (at widest point). Tressemanes Vogt was one of many factories doing business in Limoges, France at the turn of the last century The T V Limoges France mark is a white ware mark, referred to as Mark 8 in Gaston's Limoges book. It dates from ca 1907 - 1919. Since there is no decorators mark, it is unlikely the bowl was decorated at the factory. It is more likely that it was decorated by a third party. The quality of the work looks to be high, so it could have been done by a professional, or a highly skilled hobbiest. [[brand:Tressemanes Vogt]]
