Item description

This large old oil on canvas painting is signed Flick on the front and in pencil on the back. I believe it was painted by Carl Flick who was taught and encouraged by the Famous artist Grant Wood of American Gothic fame. I have sent pictures of the painting to several sources familiar with Carl Flick and most found strong trends in style and subject matter so I am leaving the rest to you buyers out there to decide. The painting is awesome to see in person and my pictures could only do so much to bring out the colors. The subject matter is a farmer sowing seed in the early morning and there are outbuildings in the distance with rolling hills in the background. The painting is large measuring 32 in. wide x 23 3/4 in. tall and it is mounted in a frame which measures 40 in. wide x 31 1/4 in. tall. Both the frame and the painting are in excellent condition. This is one of the largest paintings that I have seen by Flick and I believe that my starting price is at the lower end but it does not have a reserve so have a good look, do some research and thanks for stopping by to see it. ***SHIPPING INFO*** The shipping form does not list FEDEX as an option but I usually ship with them when I have heavier larger items since they usually beat the competition in shipping prices plus they include loss coverage up to around 500.00. They have an excellent reputation for caring for the packages sent through them too. I offer honest shipping and you can check my 9 year feedback record to verify that. I will have to purchase Styrofoam board to pack the painting in for protection and that is the majority of my handling charges of 15.00. Please allow a few days after purchase before package will be ready for shipment since I will have to purchase materials and pack it. LOCAL PICKUP IS ALWAYS WELCOME. Good luck if you bid. Sales Tax charged in Washington State.
