Item description

Here for your delectation is the SPECTACULAR RARE------------------CARUSO SINGS NEAPOLITAN SONGS LP. Superlative performances of great Italian songs by the sublime tenor! Each performance is a gem. Enrico Caruso (February 25, 1873 – August 2, 1921) was an Italian tenor. He sang to great acclaim at the major opera houses of Europe and North and South America, appearing in a wide variety of roles from the Italian and French repertoires that ranged from the lyric to the dramatic. Caruso also made approximately 290 commercially released recordings from 1902 to 1920. Canzone Napoletana, sometimes referred to as Neapolitan song, is a generic term for a traditional form of music sung in the Neapolitan language, ordinarily for the male voice singing solo, although well-represented by female soloists as well, and expressed in familiar genres such as the lover's complaint or the serenade. It consists of a large body of composed popular music. Recorded originally 1904-1919. Program notes by John Rosenfield. Contents: Guardann' a luna / De Crescenzo -- Hantise d'amour / Szulc -- Pourquoi? / Tchaikovsky -- Sérénade de Don Juan / Tchaikovsky -- Mattinata / Leoncavallo -- Nina / Pergolesi -- Vieni sul mar! / Anon. -- L'alba separa dalla epara dalla luce l'ombra / Tosti -- Cielo turchino / Ciociano -- Amor mio / Ricciardi -- Chanson de juin, op. 102, no. 6 / Godard -- Tiempo antico / Caruso -- Serenata / Bracco -- Uocchie celeste / De Crescenzo. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! This is the RCA LCT 1129 lp record. Both the cover and the record are in excellent condition. There are no visible scratches under normal light (see photo). Check my feedback to see that I sell exactly as I describe. So bid now to own this magnificent, impossible-to-find RECORD COLLECTIBLE.
