Item description

Here for your delectation is the SPECTACULAR RARE------------------CHOPIN: PRELUDES, OP. 28, ALEXANDER BRAILOWSKY, PIANIST LP. Superlative performances of great Chopin works by the sublime pianist! Each performance is a gem. FrÃdÃric François Chopin (22 February or 1 March 1810 â“ 17 October 1849) was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist. He is considered one of the great masters of Romantic music and has been called "the poet of the piano". Chopin was born in Å»elazowa Wola, a village in the Duchy of Warsaw, to a Polish mother and French-immigrant father. A renowned child-prodigy pianist and composer, he grew up in Warsaw and completed his musical education there. Following the Russian suppression of the Polish November 1830 Uprising, he settled in Paris as part of the Great Emigration. He supported himself as a composer and piano teacher, giving few public performances. From 1837 to 1847 he carried on a relationship with the French woman writer George Sand. For most of his life, Chopin suffered from poor health; he died in Paris in 1849 at the age of 39. The vast majority of Chopin's works are for solo piano, though he also wrote two piano concertos, a few chamber pieces and some songs. His piano writing is often technically demanding, with an emphasis on nuance and expressive depth. Chopin invented the instrumental ballade and made major innovations to the piano sonata, mazurka, waltz, nocturne, polonaise, Ãtude, impromptu, scherzo and prÃlude. A prelude (Germ. PrÃludium or Vorspiel; Lat. praeludium; Fr. PrÃlude; It. Preludio) is a short piece of music, the form of which may vary from piece to piece. The prelude can be thought of as a preface. It may stand on its own or introduce another work. While, during the Baroque era, for example, it may have served as an introduction to succeeding movements of a work that were usually longer and more complex, it may also have been a stand alone piece of work during the Romantic era. It generally features a small number of rhythmic and melodic motifs that recur through the piece. Stylistically, the prelude is improvisatory in nature. The prelude can also refer to an overture, particularly to those seen in an opera or an oratorio. FrÃdÃric Chopin wrote 24 Preludes, Op. 28, which cycle through all of the major and minor keys. The odd numbered preludes are in major keys, starting with C major, and each is followed by a prelude in the relative minor key. The paired preludes proceed through the circle of fifths (C major and A minor; G major and E minor; D major and B minor; etc.). Most can be played as a stand alone piece. Alexander Brailowsky (16 February 1896 â“ 25 April 1976) was a Ukrainian French pianist who specialized in the works of FrÃdÃric Chopin. He was a leading concert pianist in the years between the two World Wars. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! This is the RCA LM 1150 lp record.  Both the cover and the record are in excellent condition. There are no visible scratches under normal light (see photo). Check my feedback to see that I sell exactly as I describe. So bid now to own this magnificent, impossible-to-find RECORD COLLECTIBLE.  Â
