We are pleased to offer for you consideration this magnificent color view postcard of Mt. Rundle and the city of Banff, Alberta at its foot which was published and distributed by Double L Color Production Ltd., and printed by Evergreen Press of Canada. This view was taken by Bruno Engler. Banff is the largest town in Banff National Park, in Alberta's Rockies, Canada. Banff is a resort town and one of Canada's most popular tourist destinations, known for its mountainous surroundings and hot springs. It is a major destination for outdoor sports and features extensive hiking, biking, scrambling and skiing areas within the region. Double L Color Productions Ltd. published views of the Canadian Rockies during the 1950's and early 1960's. their views were spectacular and very colorful and had unique perspectives of the various sites which were featured on their cards. All of their printing seems to have been done by Evergreen Press Ltd of Canada. Bruno Engler came to Canada from Switzerland in 1939 and spent sixty years in the Rockies as a photographer, mountain guide, ski instructor and cinematographer. His stunning black and white photos capture the magnificence and grandeur of the Canadian alpine landscape from the smallest plant to the highest peak. The front of this card features a stupendous view of Mt. Rundle taken from Mt. Norquay, across the valley and shows the city of Banff within the valley. The photo was taken by Bruno Engler who was one of Canada's most renowned scenic photographers of the Canadian Rockies. The view is absolutely gorgeous with the cliffs of Rundle dropping down to the green, lush forest of the valley floor and the lovely city of Banff. The back of the card is a divided back postcard with the publisher's info as the division in bold lettering. At the bottom is the printer's info. The top left bears the series, "Canadian Rockies" followed by a brief description of the view on the front. Under that is the photographer's info and under that the ware number, "S-74" This card is in near mint condition with crisp sharp corners and no bumps or creases. the back is clean other than the message and stamp.
