More about this item

Drey Perfect Mason Quart Canning Jar, Zinc Porcelain Lid This is an old jar from the 1920s or 1930s, not a reproduction. Drey Perfect Mason quart canning jar with thick wavy glass. Zinc metal lid with white milkglass lining (called porcelain lid). Embossed with script "Drey" and block letters "Perfect Mason" on one side. Lid liner embossed "Boydโ€™s Genuine Porcelain Lined Cap" and number "1" in middle. This is probably one of the oldest fruit jars in my collection. I acquired it in the 1970s from the original owner. Has wavy glass sides and bubbles in the glass. This jar is still perfectly good for holding anything from pasta to buttons. Drey Jars are not common. Wonderful addition to your Fruit Jar, Canning Jar, or Mason Jar collection. Drey canning jars were made by Schram Manufacturing Company of St. Louis, Missouri. Ball bought out Schram glass in 1925, but continued to produce Drey canning jars during the Depression of the 1930s. Interesting note: Leo Drey, president of the Shram company, pronounced his last name "dry." Size: about 6.75 inches tall; base 3.75 inches diameter; top 2.5 inches diameter. weighs over 1 lb unpacked. Condition: Excellent. No chips or cracks. The zinc lid has some mineral deposits on it. You can clean this off by soaking in vinegar, then lightly coating with mineral oil, but I personally like old things to look old. :) Shipping will be calculated for your location. USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Consider making more than one purchase to save on shipping. Please take a moment to read the Seller Policies section for more information.
