Item description

Give Me One Summer by Emilie Loring 1937 HC/DJ Give Me One Summer Emilie Loring New York: Grosset and Dunlap, 1937 Copyright 1936 Third printing July 1937 306 pages The binding is in acceptable condition. The pages are tanning and have some scattered brown age spots and foxing. The turquoise cover is edge worn and has very light creasing on the spine. The jacket is rubbed, faded, very edge worn and has small tears and losses. Good in fair dust-jacket. Hardcover. Lex Carson came to Tarry Farm in Maine to claim his inheritance - and on a secret mission. He found there auburn haired, high hearted Melissa Barclay who had lived with his aunt until her death. The moment he saw Lissa he knew that he wanted to keep her - forever. and Lissa found him strangely disturbing and realized that for the first time she was deeply in love. But she thought his heart was elsewhere and he, busy with secret government investigations, had little time for lovemaking. "Give me one summer," he begged, knowing that he wanted all her summers - and all the charm and gayety and humor that were hers. For both it was a period of enchantment mixed with doubts and heartaches and finally, complete understanding. (#00002387)
