Item description

For your consideration is this vintage pottery vegetable or salad bowl. It has an off-white/cream embossed body with a dark green band. There is a lovely decal inside of a very colorful bird checking out a terra cotta flower pot that has flowers spilling out. The colors are awesome - shades of green, rust, blue, and yellow. The embossed edge has five large, fancy, gold gilt decorations. This bowl measures 9-3/8" across and about 5" tall. It is in excellent condition - no nicks, chips, or cracks. The colors are still very vibrant. I will say that there are places where the gold swag/tassel decal was applied where it did not take to the bowl, but the gold that is there is in immaculate condition. There may be some very minor wear to the center decoration. Although this is unmarked, I would say that this definitely an American pottery piece. I recently saw a bowl that was marked Homer Laughlin, Second Selection...and that bowl has the same decal and same green band that this does, so I believe it could be unmarked Homer Laughlin. I have no idea how old it actually is, but I will venture a guess at least 50-75 years old. FREE US SHIPPING
