Item description

* Lemon Quartz Sterling Pendant. * Weight of stone: 5 ct. * Quantum Trillion cut. * Size of pendant, 14mmx 14mm. * Sterling snake chain, 18 inches. Lemon Quartz Trillion set in sterling silver. An absolutely exquisite stone. It looks rich and can rival a yellow diamond. This lemon quartz pendant will go with any outfit, great for a special occasion. Set in a 6 prong sterling silver basket setting, sterling silver bail, and suspended by an 18 inch smooth sterling snake chain. The cut of this stone is referred to a "Quantum Trillion". "Quantum cut" is a marketing term for what is known in the gem trade as concave cutting. This is a fairly recent innovation, dating back to about 1990, that involves cutting a gem with facets that are curved or 3 dimensional, rather than the traditional flat, 2 dimensional facets. The result is that more of of the ambient light is refracted as brilliance. Generally only the pavilion facets are concave cut, with flat facets on the crown. This often creates unusual reflective patterns, especially when the gem is viewed face-up.
