Lot Vintage New England Brochures Maps Postcards World Fair Connecticut Vacation Guide 1966 1964 New York World Fair Empire State Building Rhode Island Tourist Guide Shell Gas Station Map ARCO Map This is a lot of vintage New England brochures, booklets, maps and postcards that I came across at a recent Estate Sale. Dates range from 1906 through the 1970s. Some are in excellent conditions, others have wear or damage. I will describe below as best I can. 1. Connecticut Vacation Guide 1966 – ’67 – Tan and White – 16 page booklet. Very nice condition, stain on back cover, looks like imprint of a staple. Interesting reading of the rates at the resorts. For example a week at the Shady Grove Tourist Court in Farmington was 30.00, the Old Farms Inn in Avon was 9.00 a day. 2. Let’s Cover the Waterfront – 1964 New York City Booklet for the World’s Fair Visitors. Published by the Circle Line Sightseeing Boat. 89 Pages. Pictures on every page. Pictures include: German naval training vessel, Gorch Foch, Empire State Building, Todd Shipyards Corporation, Lincoln Tunnel, Pier 57, Stevens Institute of Technology, Model of Proposed World Trade Center to be completed in 1970, City Hall, The France ocean liner, at the time the world’s longest ocean liner first entrance to New York, Woolworth Building, and many more. Very nice condition with just a little wear. 3. Rhode Island Tourist guide 1968 – 46 pages. Includes Calendar of Events, Consulates in Rhode Island, Ferry Schedules, Industrial Tours, Picnic Groves, Points of Interest, Skydiving, Airplanes, Special Tours and Where to Stay. Roughness to bottom edge front cover. 4. Welcome to Rhode Island – Lighthouse on Cover – 1967 Point Judith Bass Bluefish Tournament picture on back cover. First Annual Contest. John Chafee Governor picture inside front cover. Pictures inside include: Wickford Marina, America’s Cup Australian challenger "Dame Pattie”, Easton’s Beach at Newport, Peter, Paul and Mary at the Folk Festival, Clemence-Goddard-Irons House, Old Slater Mill, Linden Place, etc. Very nice condition. 14 pages. 5. Sample New England in Nearby Connecticut – Fold open brochure not dated. 6. Connecticut Resources Bulletin No. 8 – Points of Interest1965. Some damage to top edge. 7. New London Connecticut – slight stain on front. 8. Discover Connecticut – Fold out brochure. Wear on top edge. 9. Map of Connecticut – 1968 – Some age stains and bent corners. 10. Shell Gas Station Map – Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island – Not in great shape, has hole on one of the folds. 11. Atlantic Richfield Company ARCO Map – Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island – Used map with some wear 1971. 12. Connecticut Vacation Guide 1964-65 – 17 pages. Bug damage to front cover at stapled edge. 13. 8 Postcards – All of these are in used condition and have been mailed. - Atlantic City – New Jersey – Postmarked 1965 - Boat House Central Park, New York – Postmarked 1911 - Erie Co. Savings Bank, Buffalo N.Y. – Postmarked 1911 - Young’s Million Dollar Pier at Night, Atlantic City, N.J. – Postmarked 1914 - Holiday Harbor, Lake Placid N.Y. – Postmarked 1968 - Entrance to Military Park, Newark, N.J. – Postmarked 1911 - Atlantic City, N.J.
