Item description

Lot Vintage Pennsylvania Brochures Highway Maps Postcards Highlands Caravans Trailers Campers Hotel Lawrence Amish Farm Lancaster County Philadelphia Indians Picture Souvenir Mailer American Oil Company This is a lot of vintage brochures, booklets, maps and postcards from the 1960s and 1970s that I came across at a recent Estate Sale. All are from Pennsylvania. Some are in excellent condition others do have some problems. I will list them below and try to describe. 1. Welcome to Pennsylvania’s Great Northwest Scenic and Historic Tour – Bridge on front. Not dated, nice condition. Folds open to Map and Descriptions of Sites to Visit. 2. Tourist Pics In the Historic Highlands of North-Western Pennsylvania (1972) – Car pulling trailer on front with sun wearing sunglasses. Vol. 2 No. 1. Anniversary Issue. Appears to be a magazine for Caravans, Trailers, Campers, Etc. based on the articles and the advertising inside. 15 pages. There is a picture of the 1972 Indian Princess Contestants. Very nice condition. 3. Hotel Lawrence – Erie Pennsylvania AAA Where to Go, What to Do, What to See in Erie and Presque Isle. Not dated, but a Double Room, without bath was 7.00 and a Double Room, with tub-shower was 9.00. J. Austin Flannery was the Manager. Some damage to top edge. 4. The Amish Farm and House – Lancaster County. Copyright 1967, Revised 1972. Nice condition, Tour Map inside. Fold open brochure. 5. Map of Central Philadelphia – Showing how to reach many places of interest. Slight crease. 6. Historic Sites of Old Philadelphia – A Condensed Guide for a Leisurely Walk Through the Independence Square Neighborhood. Slight bend to corner. 7. How and Where to Have Fun in the Seneca Highlands – Cartoon Indians on front and back. Dated 1972. Lots of pictures and map. Nice condition. 8. See and Enjoy Historic Philadelphia – The Gray Line – Advertising Brochure for Gray Line Tours. Example "The Wonderful All Day Tour” 8 hours - 8.95. Nice shape, not dated. 9. Visit Dutch Wonderland Lancaster-Pennsylvania – One of America’s Leading Resort Attractions. Not dated, has Castle on front with Overhead train. Tear on bottom and damage along top edge. 10. Jefferson County Tourist Guide – Opens to large map inside. Map is in good shape and would look great framed, but there is some bug damage to paper at bottom. From the 1960s. Talks about the Keystone Shortway to be completed in 1970. 11. Clarion County Vacation – Edge is bent. 12. 1962 Welcome to McKean County’s Seneca Highlands the Forest Wonderland. Fold open map. Some roughness on edges. 13. Fold out Picture Souvenir Mailer. Pictures of Independence Hall, Betsy Ross House, Birth of Our Nation’s Flag, Carpenter’s Hall, Benjamin Franklin’s Grave, Christ Church, Old Elfreth’s Alley, Philadelphia, William Penn Statue, Franklin Institute, Logan Circle. Some rubbing on front cover. Not dated, but cars look like they are from the 1950s. 14. 3 Postcards – One is the Old Original Bookbinder’s Restaurant on Walnut Street Hall of Patriots Dining Room. Other is also Bookbinder’s with a horse and buggy on the front. Neither are dated. Bent corners and a crease. Postcard postmarked Philadelphia Aug 13, 1968 of Saint Joseph’s Hospital. Sent to Arlington, Virginia. 15. American Oil Company Map Summer – Fall 1972 – Pennsylvania. Very good condition. 16. There are 3 Atlantic Richfield Company – ARCO Map – 1971 and 1972. All three are in poor condition with tears and wear. These are just in here as an extra in case you have an interest in maps from that decade. 17.
