Item description

Onslaught by Joan Sutherland 1928 Grosset and Dunlap Onslaught Joan Sutherland New York: Grosset and Dunlap Copyright 1928 287 pages The binding is in acceptable condition. The pages are clean but lightly tanned and the end papers are browned. The cover has a small amount of edge wear and some light stains and the spine is lightly creased. Good. Hardcover. Chapter 1: "The 4th Battalion is being moved back to Havana tomorrow...any more leave passes to sign for the boat, sir?" The speaker did not look up; he was busy filling in a list of names, and his chief was equally absorbed in the papers that lay before him, although he answered at once. "No. None. We can't let any more men go; the quota is complete for this trip." Jardine, military secretary to the man who was in a few years destined to become one of the greatest saviors of mankind, William Crawford, heard the quietly spoken words with something like dismay even though he had expected them.
