Item description

Wrinkled Leaved Goldenrod (Solidago rugosa) This Goldenrod has rough, wrinkled leaves and branching panicles of yellow flowers that resemble fireworks. In fact a cultivar is names just that, but this is the straight native. This is one of the most attractive of the goldenrods. The plant is rhizomatous and can for colonies in the right conditions. It has many insect visitors, including pollinators, but also insects that birds seek. Songbirds eats the seeds as well making this a great plant for a bird garden. This plant is sold in a 3.5 inch pot. Description: 1 to 5 ft, yellow flowers on branching panicles that resemble fireworks. Culture: Sun to light shade, moist, sandy loam soil, slightly acid pH. Blooms mid Summer Companion plants: Doellingaria, Clethra, Maryland Meadow Beauty, Lyre Leaf Salvia, Blue Eyed Grass Wildlife benefit: Attracts pollinators as insects birds eat, seed for songbirds. Sustainable grower All of my plants are grown using earth friendly techniques, from seed collection to watering with rainwater. Pots are 100% recycled, some are re-used containers, others are made from recycled plastics. Plants are fed with PLANT-TONE by Espoma, an organic fertilizer and/or worm castings. I grow plants that can replace those lost to development in order to help sustain wildlife that depend on them. You can be assured that you are not getting plants from the wild, which is unethical and further contributes to habitat loss. ***Check my other listings. I am adding more wildlife-friendly native perennials everyday*** Payment, shipping and handling policies We gladly accept PAYPAL, and POSTAL MONEY ORDERS. Shipping is 9.00 for the first plant. Native plant range and our shipping (PLEASE READ) Most of our plants are also found native to the Midwest, however that is generally the extent of their range.
