The fruit averages 9” long and are deep green in color. The fruits are uniform in shape and color with smooth skins. The Marketer was an All-American Selection winner in 1943. This cucumber is perfect for slicing and is seen in many grocery stores as a slicing cucumber. They can be used in salads or pickled if picked when they are small. It is a gardener’s favorite and holds up very well to warmer climates. Check your vines daily as ripen fruit. Cucumbers grow quickly and are best when picked before they get too big. Do not allow the fruit to over-ripen on the vine because it may cause the plant to slow down or quit producing fruit. This variety of cucumbers resist scab and are tolerant to cucumber mosaic. Pick fruit early in the morning and place in refrigerator. For companion planting - plant with beans, cabbage family, corn, peas, radish tomatoes. Plant marigolds around your plants to deter beetles. Do not plant with sage. All of our seeds have been hand processed, packaged and tested for germination rates. We package our seeds in padded envelopes for added protection. The seed will arrive in plastic bags that can be resealed for your convenience. We cannot guarantee the rate of germination will match what we have tested at due to individual growing environments. If you need additional information about growing our seeds please email us. All seeds are labeled with growing information.
