Item description

Skeletal Family - Disinterred - Live- Leeds Cockpit December 5, 2002. (No label, private release)/ Formed in 1982 in Keighley, West Yorkshire Skeletal Family took their name from "Chant of the Ever-Circling Skeletal Family" from the 1974 David Bowie album Diamond Dogs. From early days at Bradford University Anne-Marie, Stan, Trotwood and drummer Howard Daniels soon caught the attention of the notable Radio DJ John Peel, with their single "Trees/Just A Friend". As was habitual with Peel's support the single was boosted into the independent charts. The band soon signed to independent Red Rhino, releasing their first album "Burning Oil" in 1984, heading out on tour with Sisters of Mercy on their Autumn Black October Tour after being personally requested as support by front Andrew Eldridge. A series of high profile support slots at places as esteemed as the Marquee Club would follow along with the release of the second album, "Futile Land" which featured the band's most celebrated single 'Promised Land'. Having moved to Chrysalis Records and with a host of line-up changes throughout the bands twenty-four year history, but they are still going to the present day touring around the UK and Europe, playing all the main Goth festivals. Skeletal Family recordings can be very difficult to find, and this one is certainly among the rarest. The tray card has a light crease down the middle and the CD has a couple of very light suface marks, but plays perfectly, guaranteed. Track listing: 1. So sure 2. This Time 3. Don't Be Denied 4. What Goes Up 5. Far and Near 6. She Goes Alone 7. Restless 8. More 9. Just A Minute 10. Promised Land
