Even as a youngster Jack Couffer was faced with difficult decision regarding animals. Their natural rights always concerned him. How he met and solved these problems is all a part of the growth of the character of this modern living adventurer. It was because of his films on fiddler crabs that Jack Couffer landed a job with Walt Disney. This led to a filming of some of the greatest nature epics ever made, among them: THE LIVING DESERT -- SECRETS OF LIFE -- INCREDIBLE JOURNEY -- BIG RED. His search for the subjects of his films has taken him to the mysterious Galapagos Islands, the Antarctic, Canada and the southwest United States. Here, with plenty of humor and anecdote, is the unusual story of a man who has worked closely with wolves, eagles and coyotes and made household pets of a Bengal tiger and a Canadian lynx.
