Item description

The Story of Davy Crockett by Enid LaMonte Meadowcroft HC/DJ The Story of Davy Crockett Enid LaMonte Meadowcroft New York: Grosset and Dunlap Copyright 1952 178 pages Illustrated by Charles B. Falls The binding is in good condition, the pages are clean but lightly tanned. The tan cover shows a small amount of wear. The jacket is edge worn, has a crease on the front and the inside is taped at points of stress. Good in acceptable dust-jacket. Hardcover. Davy Crockett, famous bear hunter, frontiersman and "coonskin Congressman," is one of the most colorful of American folk heroes. Born in Tennessee back when frontier life was still rugged, Davy was mighty fond of fishing and hunting but he wasn't too fond of school. With the magic of Enid Meadowcroft's pen, young Crockett comes alive and inspires a new generation of American youth with his famous slogan: "Be always sure you're right -- then go ahead." (#0000910)
