Vintage Fisher Price Play Family #930 Garage Complete with Box BONUS/EXC-NR MINT! (T) Vintage Fisher Price #930 Garage w/Original Box Bonus / EXC-NEAR MINT (T) (More photos below) "Be careful backing up!" Here's a CLASSIC play set, Fisher Price's Little People Play Family Action Garage (#930) that is 100% complete and in EXC-NEAR MINT condition! This play set captured the hearts and minds of many preschool youngsters. I've configured this offering to coincide with Fisher Price's 1971-72 production run which featured ALL WOOD Little People. I've also inserted four additional ALL PLASTIC Little People and four additional vehicles to add to the fun. After repeated close inspections, I can only detect the following flaws on the EXTERIOR and INTERIOR lithos: 1. Three, barely perceptible 1/4" L x 1/16" W rubs on the parking lot litho; these are located on the #4 parking space; 2. Twelve, small bubbles on the brown edge surrounding the parking space lithos; the bubbles range in size from 1/16" L x 1/16" W to the largest at 3/8" L x 1/8" W; you literally have to hold this base up within 3" of your eyes and rotate it in the light to see these bubbles; they are extremely difficult to see; 3. One, 3/8" L x 3/8" W bubble on the green, #1 parking space and two, small bubbles on the yellow, #2 parking space; one of the bubbles on the yellow parking space is in the shape of a small "L" and the other is 1/4" L x 1/4" W. Once again, these are not prominent in nature. They definitely do not detract from the overall appearance or function of the base; 4. Multiple, pin-head size bubbles in vertical rows on the North and East half of the litho on top of the elevator shaft; these are not detectable via touch; the only way you can see these is to hold the base up within 3" of your eyes and rotate it withing the light; they are otherwise invisible; 5. Some slight edge wear punctuated by the remnants of several black marks on the litho on the front of the elevator; my pictures make these mark look much more serious than what they really are; I briefly attempted to remove some of these black marks and they came off; I don't know if I can remove all evidence of these marks; if not, then I would be willing to offer the buyer a reproduction litho; 6. A couple of light scuffs on the sidewalk litho adjacent to the elevator; these are minimal in nature. The rest of the EXTERIOR and INTERIOR lithos are in MINT condition. These awesome lithos consist of both Gas Pump lithos, the Service Dept. litho on the back side of the elevator, the Grease Pit litho, the main Fisher Price logo, the South and West portion of the litho on the top of the elevator, and the Pond litho. Taking all of the lithos into consideration, I would rate these lithos as being in EXC-NEAR MINT condition. NOTE: THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL LITHOS. I DO NOT USE REPLACEMENT LITHOS ON MY SETS. IF A LITHO IS MISSING OR DAMAGED EXTENSIVELY, I OCCASIONALLY OFFER THE BUYER A REPLACEMENT LITHO. HOWEVER, I DO NOT APPLY THESE LITHOS MYSELF. I LEAVE IT TOTALLY UP TO THE DISCRETION OF THE BUYER WHETHER THEY WISH TO UTILIZE THESE. I PROVIDE THESE REPLACEMENT LITHOS AT NO CHARGE TO THE BUYER. FOR THIS SET, I AM OFFERING A REPLACEMENT LITHO FOR THE LITHO ON THE FRONT OF THE ELEVATOR. I WILL PROVIDE THE BUYER WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REMOVE THE ORIGINAL LITHO AND HOW TO APPLY THE REPLACEMENT. FYI, these reproduction lithos are the finest replacement lithos out there. The lady that makes these lithos is in Canada and has been making these for over 9 years. She uses a heavy duty True-Block paper with a peel off sticky back along with a professional grade printer. She calibrates her printer to match a set of unused, vintage FP lithos she procured from a former FP employee. These replacement lithos are as close as you can come to the real deal. Her replacement lithos are water resistant. You may see other competitors out there. However, the ink on their lithos is not water resistant and the paper is of inferior quality. It's totally up to the buyer if they wish to take advantage of this offer. All the buyer needs to do is peel off the sticky back on the reproduction litho and apply it to the clean, metal roof. That's it! The plastic surfaces are sublime (NEAR MINT--MINT). I have closely scrutinized these surfaces. The only "imperfections" I can detect is some generalized soiling, a few extraneous marks, and some possible orangish discoloration at the base of a couple of the pillars. I can't tell for sure about the extent of this orangish discoloration because of the amount of dirt. When one sees this orangish discoloration, it's usually an artifact of the manufacturing process. Sometimes, too much glue was applied on these sets and the result was this orangish discoloration. If it is present on this Garage, it's very minor. From experience, I know these glue stains will not come off during the cleaning process. Sometimes this discoloration can extend outwards 1/4" from the pillar or more. You also sometimes see it on the #996 Airport. I'm confident, however, the soiling and marks will come off during the cleaning process. There are no cracks, breaks, repairs, "dings," discolorations, or chips on any of these plastic surfaces. The colors are bright and glossy. The elevator, stop signs, bell, and carousel wheel all operate as designed. The gas pump nozzle is free of any "nibbles" and the underneath side of the base is pristine (MINT). The grease rack is likewise in EXC-NEAR MINT condition. The Gas Pump litho is intact with a handful of teensy bubbles and one, larger bubble (e.g. 3/4" L x 1/4" W). There are no rubs, edge wear, tears, or marks on this litho. The red handle raises the vehicle rack up and down, albeit somewhat stiffly. I will be correcting this during the cleaning process. All four corners of the Masonite base are intact and free of any cracking, layering, smushing etc. The surface of the bell is dull and rough. I will attempt to brighten this with Navel Jelly; however, my experience suggests that this bell will remain a dull gray. I know my description, especially of the parking lot litho, sounds horrendous but I'm being super "nit-picky" here because I do not want to disappoint any of my customers. With the exception of the edge wear and black marks on the elevator front litho, you really have to search hard to find these other noted imperfections. In general, I would categorize these lithos as being in EXC -NEAR MINT condition. If a replacement litho is applied to the front of the elevator, this base would warrant a NEAR MINT rating. To accompany this great play base, I've included the following accessories to comply with the 1985 Fisher Price specifications (source = 1 HTF garage lift w/litho (NEAR MINT--while the crank moves the lift up and down, it sometimes "hitches" or is difficult to run; I will be correcting this during the cleaning process. It will work smoothly after I finish cleaning it); 1 RARE white/blue single seat car with Fisher Price written on the hood and wheels of the car (VG--the wheel caps display some dulling and rust; I believe they will brighten up considerably following an application of Naval Jelly and a gentle buffing; once this is done, this car will warrant an EXC-EXC rating); 1 VHTF white/green single seat car with Fisher Price written on the wheels of the car (VG--multiple scratches on the back of the driver's seat; wheel caps are dull with some rust; once again, I will attempt to brighten these wheel caps with an application of Naval Jelly; once this is completed, this car should garner a VG rating); 1 VHTF white/red single seat car with Fisher Price written on the wheels (VG-"ding" on the edge of one tire; multiple surface scratches on the back of the driver's seat; wheel hubs exhibit considerable rust; once again, hopefully this will be eradicated with the application of the Naval Jelly); and 1 VHTF white/yellow single seat car with Fisher Price wheels (VG--rust on wheel caps; if I'm successful in removing this, this car will be in EXC-EXC condition). The 1971-72 version of this set came with all WOOD Little People. The Little People contained in this set are: 1 VHTF ALL WOOD, African American red bodied boy with heat-stamped hair, belt, and inside bolt (EXC-EXC--some paint loss consistent with age); 1 VHTF ALL WOOD, green bodied boy with red hair, belt, and interior bolt (MINTY MINT); 1 VHTF ALL WOOD, blue bodied girl with blonde braids (NEAR MINT---braids firmly attached; tiny amount of paint loss on the bottom of the piece; most sellers would describe this piece as being in MINTY MINT condition); 1 VHTF ALL WOOD, yellow bodied frowning boy with red cap facing forward (VG---some edge wear on the brim of the cap; remnants of black lettering on back of piece; because of this, I'm giving the buyer a choice of the ALL WOOD, yellow bodied frowning boy with red cap OR a WOOD/plastic yellow bodied frowning boy with red cap facing forward (EXC-EXC--paint is in terrific condition; cap has a stress fracture where the brim attaches to the cap; I will be applying either Krazy Glue or Lazer Bond Glue to strengthen this stress fracture so that it doesn't progress). To multiply the number of open ended play opportunities, I have include four additional ALL PLASTIC Little People and four other cars. The Little People are: 1 RARE "whitie" green bodied girl with blonde sculpted hair (EXC--this is a variation of the regular green bodied girl; sometimes, FP didn't pour enough flesh-colored dye into the plastic used for the heads of the LP; collectors often covet these "whities"); 1 red bodied girl with blonde bob (NEAR MINT---little roughness around the bottom of the piece); 1 RARE yellow bodied girl with black sculpted hair (MINTY MINT); and 1 RARE blue bodied boy with freckles and frowning face along with a red baseball cap facing sideways (EXC--a few "nibbles" on the hat's brim). The four additional cars are: 1 HTF green/white single seater car without FP written on the wheels (EXC-EXC--some scuffing around the gas hole; some scuffs and scratches on the back of the driver's seat); 1 HTF red/white single seater car without FP written on the wheels (EXC--some faint surface scratches on the hood and trunk); 1 HTF yellow/white single seater car without FP written on the wheels (NEAR MINT); and 1 VHTF blue/white single seater car without FP written on the wheels (EXC--wheel caps are dull and show some rust; will attempt to rectify this with Naval Jelly). Last, but not least, this set is accompanied by its original box. The box exhibits considerable wear (e.g. multiple rubs, tears, scrapes, extraneous tape, remnants of original price tag, severe separation of the outer and inner layers of the box on one end of the box, severe edge and corner wear). On a scale from 1-10, with 10 being perfect, I would give this box a 6.0/10.0. It provides a good reference regarding the contents of this set. This is an heirloom quality set and one that is sure to please either an avid Fisher Price collector or some lucky child. I WILL BE Q-TIP CLEANING THIS PLAY SET AND ALL OF ITS ACCESSORIES PRIOR TO SENDING IT ON TO ITS NEW OWNERS. I SPEND ANYWHERE FROM 1 1/2 -6 1/2 HOURS CLEANING EACH AND EVERY VINTAGE FISHER PRICE PLAY SET THAT I SELL--EXCEPT FOR THOSE CLEARLY MARKED IN MY ROUGH ROOM. My play sets are IMMACULATE! NOTE: THIS VINTAGE FISHER PRICE PLAY SET IS NOT PART OF THE RECENT RECALL OF FISHER PRICE TOYS MANUFACTURED IN CHINA. THIS VINTAGE TOY WAS PRODUCED IN THE GOOD OLD U.S.A. 46 YEARS AGO. DUE TO SOME SMALL PARTS, THIS PLAY SET SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN TO CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OF AGE OR TO THOSE CHILDREN WHO ARE STILL MOUTHING THEIR TOYS. ADULT SUPERVISION IS SUGGESTED UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. This set weighs approximately 7 - 7 1/2 lbs. UNWRAPPED. My zip code is 47905 (INDIANA). Due to its size, it will require an over-sized box. I will probably be shipping this set via Fed Ex Home Delivery. I will need a residential address, not a P.O. Box, and a contact phone number (e.g. home, cell, or work place) to complete Fed Ex's paperwork. Otherwise, they will not accept the package for shipment. See my other listings for more great items! Buyer will have a choice between ALL WOOD yellow bodied boy or WOOD/plastic yellow bodied boy. Note: Separation of inner cardboard layer and outside litho. s.Preferred payment is via PayPal. Payment is expected within 5 business days. The price listed is for the item itself. The total amount due will be the purchase price of the item the ACTUAL shipping cost to deliver your item to you. I SHIP WITHIN 48 HOURS OF A CLEARED PAYMENT. Vintage Little People A-Frame Playset

This is a great playset just like the others, but I think this particular set is for older children.

The door design is poor in that the roof/door sometimes doesn't hold tight and can fall off when transporting. It is also (my opinion) made of a thinner or more fragile plastic that can also warp on some of these, so that when closed the roof/door will not lay flat against the playset.

If this particular vintage playset wasn't treated well by its original young owner, the sets you find today will show that wear.

As a child who owned one of these playsets in brand new condition many years ago, it was one of my favorites regardless of the drawbacks I have shared.
