Vtg. Fisher Price Play Family #952 Yellow House Complete w/Wooden LP and Box/EXC-NEAR MINT !(M) Vintage Fisher Price Play Family #952 Yellow House Complete/EXC--NEAR MINT (M) (MORE PHOTOS BELOW) Just like Dorothy said in the "Wizard of Oz," "There's no place like home, there's no place like home...." Revisit for yourself the CLASSIC Fisher Price Play Family #952 Yellow House play set. Produced from 1969-1979, this set originally consisted of 19 play pieces and the base. In 1980, Fisher Price re-configured this play set so that it resembled a brown, Tudor-style house. I have configured this #952 House according to the original 1972 Fisher Price specifications (see www.thisoldtoy.com). In my opinion, this set warrants an EXC- NEAR MINT rating. After closely examining and re-examining this base, I can discern the following "flaws" on the EXTERIOR lithos: 1. One, faint, 1/4" L x 1/16" W scratch above the lower, left-hand window on the front of the house; this definitely does not detract from the overall appearance or functioning of the piece; 2. One, 1/4" L x 1/4" W bubble to the right of the upper, right-hand window on the front litho; this bubble is virtually invisible unless you hold the house up within 3" of your eyes and rotate it in the light; 3. One, 3/8" L x 1/8" W scratch from the lower, left-hand window shutter to the left-hand edge of the plastic door frame; once again, this is difficult to see; 4. Tiny, pin-head size tear on lower-left hand edge of main Fisher Price logo; 5. One, 1/8 " L x 1/8" W scuff to the right of the lower, left-hand window on the back litho of the house; 6. Two scratches, one, 1/4" L x 1/16" W and the other, 3/8" L x 1/16" W, above the lower, right hand window on the litho on the rear of the house; the first scratch has not displaced the litho or any of its coloration; the second one has resulted in a small rub; 7. Three tiny bubbles, two above the upper right hand window and the other to the right of the same window, on the litho on the back of the house; 8. Two, thin vertical creases above the upper left-hand window on the rear litho of the house; 9. One, small bubble above the garage window litho; 10. Three rubs above the door litho next to the garage; the largest of these is 1" L x 1/8" W; and 11. A minor rub on the edge of the grassy litho to the left of the chimney. Other than the aforementioned "flaws," the EXTERIOR lithos are in SUPERB condition. They are smoothly and firmly attached to their underlying plastic surfaces. I cannot detect any bubbles, creases, marks, stains, fading, or rubs other than the ones described above. I can't emphasize enough I'm being super "nit-picky" here. Many of these "imperfections" are barely perceptible and I doubt if they even show in my photos. You have to be searching for them and hold the base up close to your eyes and rotate it in the light to perceive them. I don't want anyone to be disappointed by their purchase from me so I feel obligated to bring these "imperfections" to your attention. Remember, you're dealing with a toy that is over 45 years young! All in all, I would rate these EXTERIOR lithos as being in EXC--NEAR MINT condition. The INTERIOR lithos are similarly impressive (NEAR MINT- MINT). The floor lithos are flawless (MINT). After repeated examination, the only "imperfections" I can spy are: 1. One, small scrape on the garage floor litho; 2. One, small bubble on the curtain adjacent to the upper, right-hand window located in the parents' bedroom; 3. One, small bubble on each of the kitchen curtain lithos; and 4. One, small bubble to the left of the front, living room door. These EXTERIOR and INTERIOR lithos are the BEST I've ever seen with one of these #952 Yellow Houses. You're not going to find one any better unless it's BRAND NEW and sealed in its original box. The colors and graphics are to "die for." This is definitely an heirloom quality set. PLEASE NOTE: All of the aforementioned lithos are the original lithos applied at the factory. The plastic surfaces of this base are in incredible shape (EXC-NEAR condition). Other than some light soiling, there are no cracks, chips, breaks, repairs, stains or abrasions anywhere on this piece. The only possible flaw I can ascertain is some roughness in the plastic on the outer hinge of the house, which is located in the middle of the white chimney. There is no fraying or cracking of the plastic on the hinge, both inside and out. The interior, painted edges of the house are in EXC-EXC condition. Other than a couple of chips on the upper, left-hand painted wooden frame on the garage side of the house, the rest of the wooden edges are in MINT condition. I have lowered my overall rating of these wooden edges to EXC-EXC purely on the basis of the noted chips. Noted strengths of this base include: 1. The door bell still rings and the garage door smoothly opens and closes; 2. The chimney is 100% intact and hasn't developed any cracks or yellowing around the edges etc.; 3. All four corners of the Masonite base are intact and free of any layering, cracking, smushing, or repairs; 4. Other than two, possible light water stains and some light scratches, the underneath side of the masonite base is in great shape (e.g. free of any marks). In addition to this base, this offering contains the following: 1 VHTF yellow staircase w/litho (EXC--a couple of large air bubbles, along with a couple of other small bubbles, some soiling on the far left-hand edge of the litho); hopefully, the soiling will be reduced/eradicated with a Q-tip cleaning); 1 RARE brown coffee table (VG--numerous light surface scratches along with some tiny, tooth indentations; also some light wear on the bottom table legs); 4 VHTF yellow captain's chairs, all with a triangle on the back (2 are in VG condition---scuffs and scratches on the underneath side of the chairs; other two are in EXC condition); 1 RARE white double bed w/out original foam (VG---due to dry rot, I have removed the vestiges of the original foam and replaced it with a firm, tan foam mattress; I have not glued this foam in place in case the new owner wishes to remove it and exchange it for something else; there is some edge wear on the upper edge of the foot board and some minor discoloration on the front edge of the headboard); 2 RARE white single beds w/out any traces of the original foam (VG--once again, I have inserted some firm, tan foam in lieu of this missing foam; the headboards, foot boards, and side rails on these beds exhibit some edge wear, scratches, and minor discoloration); 2 RARE brown stuffed chairs (EXC-EXC--minor edge wear around perimeter of the underneath side of the chair skirt); 1 RARE yellow table (EXC); 1 VHTF white/red single seater car without Fisher Price written on the wheels and without a "C" hook on the rear (EXC-EXC--some light scratches inside the driver's seat); 1 RARE, ALL WOOD, green bodied Dad with BROWN heat stamped hair, "belt," and metal rivet (EXC--one minor indentation on left cheek; not sure what caused this; could have been a child's tooth but usually these come in pairs; some minor paint loss on right side of head and back of body; these are consistent with age); 1 RARE, ALL WOOD, blue bodied Mom with blonde pony (MINTY MINT); 1 EXTREMELY RARE, ALL WOOD, blue bodied girl with blonde pigtails and metal rivet (EXC---pigtails firmly attached; some paint loss above nose, in 1/8" L indentation on front of body, and some minor minor areas where paint has lightened; this appears to be consistent with age); 1 RARE, ALL WOOD orange bodied boy with red heat stamped hair and metal rivet (EXC--minor paint loss on upper, right-hand forehead and a light scratch into left eye); 1 EXTREMELY RARE, all WOOD, Snoopy dog w/thin,yellow dot collar and solid, regular shape, wood base (MINT--FYI, Fisher Price originally called this dog,"Snoopy." You can see the garage door at the back of the house has a dog's dish with "Snoopy's" name on it; over time, Fisher Price changed the name to "Lucky"). This particular offering also affords its original box. This box demonstrates some marked wear (e.g. bowing, extraneous tape, rubs, 5" L tear on one of the flaps, a 4" tear on the front of the box, some creasing, corner wear, edge wear, black marks etc.), it nonetheless possesses all of its original flaps and its original coloration. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, I would judge this box to be a 5.0/10.0. Despite its considerable wear, it still serves as a reference guide regarding the pieces associated with this play set. There you have it! This would make a WONDERFUL set for a Fisher Price collector or some lucky child. Remember, this toy is NOT part of the recent Fisher Price recall. This play set was manufactured in the good ole' United States approximately 46 years ago. As this set contains small parts, it is NOT recommended that this set be given to children under 3 years of age or those who are still mouthing their toys unless adult supervision is provided. I will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaning this House and all its accessories prior to forwarding it on to its new owner. My sets are IMMACULATE! This particular set weighs 5 lbs, 6 oz. UNWRAPPED. My city and zip code are: Lafayette, IN (47905). See my other listings for more great items! PayPal is the preferred manner of payment. All payments are due within 5 business days of the listing's conclusion. I also accept bank-issued Cashier's Checks and Postal Money Orders. Due to my bank's policies, I am unable to ship your item until these forms of payment clear my bank (usually within 3 business days). Please contact me if you would like to pay via a Cashier's Check or a Postal Money Order. The price listed is for the item itself. The total amount due will be the purchase price of the item the ACTUAL shipping cost to deliver your item to you. All shipping costs or extra fees (in the case of Canadian shipments) are the responsibility of the buyer. I will do everything in my power to find you the cheapest shipping rate---whether it's the USPS (First Class or Priority), Fed Ex, or UPS. I DO NOT PAD MY SHIPPING COSTS---NEVER HAVE AND NEVER WILL! I SHIP WITHIN 48 HOURS OF A CLEARED PAYMENT. I primarily utilize Fed Ex Home Delivery for items exceeding 5 lbs. in weight, measuring greater than 12 inches in any dimension, or traveling longer distances. I've been finding Fed Ex has been running @33% cheaper than the USPS (including Parcel Post) and UPS Ground. In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number. In addition, I must have a contact phone number (e.g. home, cell or work place). Fed Ex will not accept the package for delivery without a contact phone number. FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex is that their quote includes up to 100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel's whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account. I pledge to find the cheapest shipping alternative possible for each and every one of my customers. Any inadvertent shipping overcharges in excess of 1.00 will be refunded to the buyer via PayPal. U.S. domestic locations for boxes/padded envelopes weighing under 15 oz. will be shipped via First Class Mail; anything over 15 oz. needs to go Priority mail, Fed Ex, or UPS.
