Zarah Tropical Fish Sea Triggerfish Brooch Pin Enamel Sterling Silver Figural Ocean Life Reef Aqua Black Orange Blue Green Colorful Enameling Metalsmithing Whimsical Nature Jewelry Artisan Hand Painted Handpainted This lovely vividly colorful brooch was designed by the artist Julia Pinkham and produced by Zarah Jewelry. The pin is of an enameled sterling silver tropical fish in shades of aqua, black, orange, blue, green and creamy white. This fun to wear design has been retired. The brooch measures approximately 1 5/8 inches wide and 1 1/8 inches tall. It is marked S925 on the back (see arrow in picture) and it comes on the original card. The brooch was painted by hand using solutions that contain colored granules of glass; the piece is then fired in a kiln to produce the rich colors. This unique brooch is in nice pre-owned condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The bar pin roll over clasp closure works fine and is secure. The silver back is quite dark (not sure if it was made that way or not) and there are areas on the silver rope on the front that look as though the enamel finish is worn on the silver or that the silver has darkened, but again this could be the way it was made. You don't see it without magnification. I have not polished it as many people prefer the patina that only comes with age. Depending on your own taste, I will leave any polishing up to you; you can keep it in the same condition with its original patina or polish it.
