Item description

We are pleased to offer for your consideration this magnificent antique undivided back postcard which was published by the International Art Publishing Co. of New York, prior to 1907. International Art Publishing Co. Ltd., was in business from 1898 to 1914. They were a publisher of many artist signed holiday and patriotic postcards. Published over 3000 holiday cards by Ellen H. Clapsaddle alone. They also owned the Wolf Company that also produced postcards. All their cards were printed in Germany. This postcard is signed "Fannie", Who worked at International Art until 1904, as a postcard illustrator. The front of this card features a young lady in a gold coat, white feathered hat with Rose embellishment's, standing on a gold colored balcony. There are four white doves carrying Valentines envelopes, and they are in-flight. Below into the left, are the words, "With Love and Devotion". The international art ware number "35" is at the lower left corner. The signature, Fannie, is at the lower right corner. There is extensive embossing throughout the entire postcard. The back of this postcard is an undivided back postcard, with the entire back intended for the address only. The left margin contains the International Art logo and on two lines the International Art Publishing Co.information. The lower left corner indicates that the reverse is for the address only. This postcard is excellent condition with all four corners crisp and sharp. The card bears an address, but was never posted. There are no creases or folds, however, there is a small bit of paper attached or glued to the ladies hat. This card will make an excellent addition to your collection of antique Valentines Day postcards. It will also make a nice addition to a collection of Valentine's Day cards which feature ladies, birds and hearts.
