Introduction to Booth Chatting

You probably thought you were here to buy and sell stuff, right? Well, you can always use that story in a pinch if you need an alibi, but we're pretty sure you'll enjoy the journey to buying and selling at least as much as the destination.

A booth chat is a chat that happens in a seller's booth. Along with the forums, booth chats are part of our scheme to make you forget you came here to get something done. At its purest, the booth chat provides an easy way for buyers to ask sellers questions or propose offers and have those questions/offers responded to in real time. In practice, when you get a userbase as intelligent and snarky as Bonanza's, there is a lot of monkey business that ends up happening in the booth chat, including joking to a seller about their items or generally getting to know people who have the same taste in stuff as you do. We think that's just fine, as long as you're not a jerk. We bet you're not.

Accessing your booth chat

First, make sure that your booth chat is enabled. Go to your "Selling > Booth settings" page and select the "Booth appearance" tab. Scroll to the bottom of the page; make sure the "Disable booth chat" option is set to "No" and save any changes you make.

Next, visit your booth homepage by pointing your mouse over the "Selling" link in the upper left-hand corner of any page and selecting "View booth" from the drop down.

Now that your booth chat is enabled, you will see a chat box at the top of your booth homepage, just under your banner!

Now that you've found your new time sink of choice, enjoy! Just don't sue us if you love chatting so much you forget to eat, use the bathroom, blink, etc.
