Just Launched: Simplified Fees Page and Inventory Export

Hi, I'm Eric, a programmer here at Bonanza, and this my first blog post ever! Please be gentle. :)

Lots of updates this week! Hooray! In addition to being able to transfer items between seller accounts, we launched a simplified version of our fees page, as well as a new feature: inventory export.

Fees Page

Our goal with this new fees page was to make it easier and quicker for you to find the most important information about your billing history. That starts at the top of the page with our slick new summary box. This section is intended to give you an idea of the state of your account at a glance.

The other major change was to make the page more compact. We removed the "Bill for ::last month::" box and brought the "Past Bills" section (now called "Statements") up closer to the top of the page.

I think most importantly we made it waaaaaay easier to find your statement for the current month - just click the "View current statement" link (If you don't see that link on your fees page, don't worry. It just means that you haven't been charged any seller fees for the current month yet.).

We've also made it easier to browse through your complete billing history. If you have more than six months of bills, you'll see numbered links below the "Past Bills" table that will let you travel through time aaaaallllll the way back to your very first Bonanza bill. Oh, the memories of that first sale!

Inventory Export

Our number one requested featured (up until now) was to add the ability to export your booth's entire inventory... And now you can! You'll find this brand new feature in the Batch Editor ("Update items as a group").

Using it is super simple. You can export all of the items, or just some subset of items from your booth. To choose which items to export, click on the "Update filter" link, set your filter conditions, and click "Apply filter" (if you want to export all of your items, don't add a filter).

Then, click the "Export filtered items" button on the "Print and export" tab. You'll be able to choose which columns to export (item title, description, category, price, quantity, sku, etc). Finally, click the "Export items" button, and we'll queue up your export. Just like exporting offers, we'll send you an email when your CSV file is ready to download.

I hope I did ok with my first blog post (and I hope Bill lets me write more!), and I hope you all like the new changes. Thanks for all of your feedback. Keep it coming!

Finally I can manage my inventory in bulk, download and correct data and upload it again. I hope picture URL is included so there will be no problem.

How do we un-zip the inventory file after it has been downloaded?

jordo says in response: 01/09/15 at 11:35:10

Hi AdventuresAndHobbies,

You can use any program that handles zip files. 7-Zip – http://www.7-zip.org – is a good free option.

bharding says in response: 01/16/15 at 15:31:46

In Windows and on OS X, you can also right click the file, which provides “Extract all” or “Unzip” options, depending on your platform. Unzipping is built into most all operating systems these days.

This is Great News ! ! Just last week I asked if there was a way to download my inventory… Thank You ! !

AmysTreasureTrove says: 01/09/15 at 06:54:40

Just downloaded my first csv file from Bonanza and I have a question, a concern really… the category is shown in the csv as a text entry and not the numerical id assigned to that category… will this affect the update-ability of items when using the csv to perform updates?

bharding says in response: 01/09/15 at 10:21:18

Hi Amy,

Great question. We’ve updated our CSV importer so that it can use the full text category names that are output by the inventory exporter, so you’ll be good to go.

VaultFragrances says: 01/09/15 at 11:33:11

Good job and thank you!

Would it be possible to enable a choice between CSV and Excel format? And/or enable us to see the inventory list by more than 100 items at a time?

bharding says in response: 01/16/15 at 15:28:17

Excel can import CSV files, I believe it’s under Data → From Text. Or check Google

Amazing. I have been waiting for this feature for a very long time. All we need next is the built in product catalog.

I would like to know where is the link to use my tokens to pay fees.

DiscountDesigner says: 01/11/15 at 16:20:56

Catnuttiagain, Hit on the month you are currently being billed for under “statements” the next page it will ask you if you want to use your tokens.

TimeMall says: 01/11/15 at 17:10:46

Very Good!

CatnuttiAgain says: 01/12/15 at 08:28:00

Thanks DiscountDesigner, found it

VintageSpecialties says: 01/12/15 at 08:33:06

Great job, Eric! I haven’t checked it all out yet, but I do have a question:
Do token credits not carry over? In other words, I used 500 for a $1.00 credit, and my bill was .50. Doesn’t the .50 credit carry over to the current bill?
I am not seeing a single statement that shows everything (all months together).

bharding says in response: 01/16/15 at 15:30:17

Hi VintageSpecialties,

If the credit doesn’t carry over properly, I’d recommend reaching out to [email protected], they can manually apply a credit to your account.

Hello,

I have to pay my account a few hours via Paypal, and now my store is empty. I really want to know what the problem is because I don’t know anything about.
Thank you

dteacher2 says: 01/23/15 at 05:56:33

Yesterday on my “recent sales” page, for the first time I noticed little pictures by each item! Loved it — super helpful.

GoodDealsToday says: 01/27/15 at 05:59:16

Inventory Export works great. What would be awesome is for each image url to have its own column.
