Announcing: Bonanza Webstores

Webstores coming at you on every platform!

I know we just released a giant new feature last week (our Bonanza Affiliates program), but why stop there? Today, we’re announcing our next big feature: Bonanza Webstores. It’s your ticket to getting your very own, customizable, standalone ecommerce website.

I already sell on Bonanza, how can I benefit from a Webstore?

As you build your online business, selling at a marketplace like Bonanza gets you up and running quickly - sales can start right away thanks to our direct visitors and our Broadcaster network of search partners. But as your business grows and you start to build a unique brand, getting a standalone website also becomes an attractive option.

  • A standalone website offers a dedicated home for your business, to print on business cards and link to in social media
  • It gives you control over your site’s visual design, to more closely represent the tone of your brand
  • It can make your business look more professional, especially if you use a custom domain name (www.YourCompany.com)

How is a Bonanza Webstore different from other website builders?

We think Bonanza Webstores are uniquely well-suited for existing Bonanza sellers, because we built it specifically to cater to your needs. Check out these Bonanza-only features:

  • Integrated inventory. Your Webstore inventory is the same as your Bonanza inventory, so it’s all managed from one place: Bonanza. If something sells on your Webstore, it’s marked as sold on Bonanza, and vice versa. Your booth will draw visitors from Google, TheFind, Nextag, etc, while your webstore gives you an opportunity to build sales with no selling fees (more on that below).
  • Tools you already know and love. No need to learn another set of tools. Use our trusted (and highly recommended) seller tools to manage your Webstore inventory, communicate with customers, manage fulfillment, buy and print shipping labels, and whatever else you request of us.
  • The best of both worlds. There’s only so much time in your day. Bonanza's dual threat marketplace + webstore means you have time left over for what you do best: creating great merchandise and building happier repeat buyers.

With Webstores, the benefits of a marketplace and your own ecommerce store are unlocked in one fell swoop.

Which other features are included?

Our feature list will grow and expand over the coming months. But for starters, here are some of our favorite features that you get with your Bonanza Webstore right now:

  • No setup fees, no listing fees, and no final value fees. The only charge you’ll ever see is a low, flat monthly hosting fee.
  • Automatic mobile and tablet compatibility, so your store looks great on any device.
  • Seamless connection with your Facebook and Twitter accounts.
  • No-questions-asked, money-back guarantee (first 14 days).
  • (Did I already mention, no final value fees on all merchandise sold via your Webstore?)

And we’ve made it super easy to get up and running - just a couple of clicks for existing Bonanza sellers.

Which new features are coming up next?

We’ve put a ton of effort into this, and it’s a top priority for our development team in Q4 and beyond. We've got plenty of ideas that we're eager to implement. For example, we currently offer a limited set of themes, so we’ll be rolling out new, beautiful themes on a regular basis over the next several months.

We also know that no product launch is perfect. But if you’ve been with Bonanza for a while, then you know that we have a proven track record of listening passionately to our customers and continually making improvements based on your feedback. So be sure to send us your feedback about Webstores to [email protected].

How can I get my own Bonanza Webstore?

If you’re ready to take the next step in growing your online presence, sign up for Bonanza Webstores. For more information, visit our help pages:

Opening a Bonanza Webstore is the fastest way to get your own ecommerce store. It’s also the only way to manage your Bonanza booth and your ecommerce website using the same, award-winning seller tools. Get 'em while they're hot!

I would like to seen an example of a store.

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 17:54:38

Good idea! I posted a couple below, and will post more as more people get theirs setup.

tomwayne1 says: 09/11/14 at 16:29:20

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 17:54:55

Well, you told us to do it. What choice did we really have?

Tortuga says: 09/11/14 at 16:51:07

I’m interested….but not sure. I think I’d like to see an example too. The informational pages that attract people t yur store…is that like a blog or a tutorial on your types of products?

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 17:55:38

You can create however many custom pages you want, if you want to give tutorials on your products or what-not. There isn’t blogging capability built in yet, but that’s probably coming in the next two weeks.

TimeMall says: 09/11/14 at 17:02:10

I would like to seen an example of a store.

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 17:55:59

Your wish is our command! See a couple recently setup examples below.

maydamart says: 09/11/14 at 17:03:35

It sounds pretty awesome for people who can afford yet another fee.

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 17:57:51

Compare the price of a Bonanza webstore to the competition. Other webstores recommend pricey $70-$100 per month plans. We intend to keep our webstores available at $25.

And remember, unlike marketplace transactions, any sales you make in your webstore have NO FEES. All profit.

Eliray says: 09/11/14 at 17:27:03

Does the webstore offer where a buyer can enter their personalized information? Say on address labels? And I would like to see examples.

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 17:59:04

I’m not sure I understand the question? A buyer will enter their information during checkout, and you can then print it in a packing slip or what-have-you. But I don’t think that’s what you’re after? Maybe you can elaborate. We plan to be adding loads of new features to our webstores in the weeks to come so if you’ve got a great idea there’s a good chance it will be online soon.

TimeMall says: 09/11/14 at 17:32:39

I have Gold membership. I wonder if only payment Bonanza webstores and I have to cancel my Gold Membership

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 18:00:47

You can reuse the same card you use for membership to pay for your webstore. At this time, membership features are specific to booths and functionality on the main site.

We’ll probably start adding webstore bonus features to memberships in the future, but we want people to be able to sign up for webstores independently of whether they have a membership.

Tortuga says: 09/11/14 at 17:36:32

I wonder if there could be a package deal with membership and webstore that is affordable for sellers who don’t sell as much.

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 18:02:33

We have tried to give the absolute lowest possible price point to get started with a webstore. Besides no fees, our one and only package is about 25% the cost of other webstores recommended packages. We intend to keep it that way for the foreseeable future.

We do hope to add more webstore bonus features to memberships in the weeks to come.

bharding says: 09/11/14 at 17:48:13

Good idea, re linking an example store. Here is one of the first ones setup, about 10 minutes after we posted this blog

http://bluepennylady.bonanza.com/

Also:

http://simplygarfield.bonanza.com/

bharding says: 09/11/14 at 17:52:21

Here’s another one in the early stages of being setup, using our other webstore theme (and integrated custom domain).

http://www.stachesafe.com/

Tortuga says: 09/11/14 at 18:11:16

Well, it looks pretty good. Might be a couple months before I can commit to the monthly fee, but I think I will do it. I’d actually like to create a database for glass and antique collectors (and myself) lol. So this seems to be something that would fit what I want to do.
Now if my webpage generate traffic to the main Bonanza site….you get some kind of bonus for that right? Does your webpage count as a Bonanza affiliate?

TimeMall says: 09/11/14 at 18:11:51

I currently have Gold membership. I am interested by Webstore. I want to know if I have to pay for the Gold membership and Webstore. Because I only want to pay for Webstore. I do not want to pay for two membership.

SegundaVez says: 09/11/14 at 18:36:20

THANK YOU for adding the webstore feature at such a reasonable cost.

What about security? Is that handled by Bonanza or will we need our own SSLs? Can more than one booth be linked to the webstore or does each have to have its own?

(Thank you MyTexasTreasures for mentioning the FAQs—hadn’t found them before and was able to eliminate most of my questions!)

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 22:08:16

Great question. We handle the SSL. If you register a domain through our interface, we’ll automatically buy an SSL certificate for your domain, and checkout will happen on your domain.

If you use an existing domain, you will checkout through the Bonanza subdomain for your store, i.e., http://simplygarfield.bonanza.com/

In that case, it uses Bonanza’s SSL certificate. Since all of the UI and interface is the same as your webstore, most buyers don’t even notice they’ve moved across domains. This is how other webstore platforms handle the problem as well.

MyTexasTreasures says: 09/11/14 at 19:09:14

Thanks so much, this looks like a fantastic and easy feature!

And THANKS for the biggernewerfaster box. It is lightening fast now!

As always questions, ( I did read all the FAQ first )
1. Will we be able to sign up for the CPA based traffic for our webstore? One part of the FAQ seems to indicate no, yet another yes?
2. Can we set different prices in our store and our Bonanza booth?
3. If yes to question one, will there be an issue with Google shopping with duplicate listings thus risking feed cancellation?
4. And will you deliver content to Google, Bing, and Yahoo via a feed as do other webstore providers?
5. Will you have a support phone or email available?

@blupennylady Looking GOOD!

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 22:14:43

Hey MTT! Long time no chat.

Let me do my best to answer your many questions.

1. At this point, it looks like all traffic to the webstore will be CPC, that is, managing your own Google Adwords account, as you would on other webstores. Your booth will still receive all of the CPA traffic from our various commissioned sources. If at all possible, we’d like to keep the webstores fee-free for all transactions.
2. Nope, all inventory will match exactly. To do otherwise would require a great deal of complexity in managing who-knows-how-many differences between items. One of the ways we’re trying to make our webstores different than other choices is SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE.
3. N/A
4. Yes and no. We’ll inform Bing, Yahoo, and Google about your webstore content via your webstore sitemap (development underway), but we won’t be using their commissioned traffic sources for webstore items, per above.
5. Initially, webstore support will be handled by Bonanza support as usual. If this platform grows as large as we expect it to, it will get more and more resources dedicated to it over the coming months.

Hope it helps.

ilovegems2009 says: 09/11/14 at 19:48:08

Would we be able to add banners to the website or offer people the option to advertise on the webstore? Did not see this option on bluepenny site

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 22:17:11

Neither is setup yet, but I think that allowing sellers to setup banners (i.e., to encourage people to sign up for your newsletter) is a no-brainer for us to get done by end of Q4. I don’t foresee us adding functionality to allow others to advertise on your webstore, but we may add the option for you to have Google Adsense on your store, if enough sellers request it.

TimsDiamondWillow says: 09/11/14 at 21:45:03

What are you guys on? I mean, several major features added in the last year is amazing! I guess the PC comment would be something about how you must have added a lot more personnel to your team than you’re letting on. I know you introduced a few new people a few months ago…any other new folks we haven’t met yet?

bharding says in response: 09/11/14 at 22:22:30

Hahah! I would have to agree — the amount that this team gets done is pretty insane. The way we get it done is probably worth a blog post in itself. The best explanation I could fit in a blog comment is that we try to hire fewer, better people. Having fewer people means fewer meetings, less drama, and more time to listen to what our sellers want (like webstores) and git er done.

That said, we have built our team to more than 10 now, with hopefully a few more developers starting soon. Along with 100 tiny improvements we want to make to webstores, I’d also like to make a sweep at the whole site before Q4 to ensure that we are as close to 100% bug-free as possible.

DigitalGameSales says: 09/11/14 at 23:04:27

How does Bonanza Webstores compete with the likes of BigCommerce, Wix, Shopify, etc? They are priced cheaper and offer 100x the designs and apps .. I guess as I’m trying to see the actual additional value of using a webstore coupled with my Bonanza booth..

Example : Are there special features devoted to the website that tie into the Bonanza Store? Are there discounts for my Bonanza Booth by using a Webstore?

Currently the presentation of the webstore and your blog post make it seem like the Webstore is a seperate entity than Bonanza .. almost like your attempting to push Bonanza into a different direction which may or may not be a good thing.

As somebody who has over 10 years in Product Management (primarily consumer web and mobile) .. I worry that your team is now focused on this new feature without really adding any additional value for booth users to make the jump when they can get something more powerful and cheaper elsewhere.

I would love to see your team spend additional time in improving the bonanza experience for booth users such as:

- Abandoned Shopping Cart Tool
- Improved Shopping Cart functionality to reduce abandonment
- Better Risk Management Tools = Integrate with a 3rd party risk tool to scan orders.. We get a ton of Fraud from Bonanza because orders are not independently scanned before payment is accepted.
- Offer additional payment methods
- Improve functionality for Titan and Titan Plus users

Even a simple Free integration with MaxMind, would do wonders for your customers.

Also, better access to HTML for posting on the site (ie: Background colors, and image issues have always existed for us .. going back to when we opened in 2011.

Just my thought s:)

bharding says in response: 09/12/14 at 10:23:55

On a business level, there three beliefs that led us to build this:

1. It is better to manage your inventory from one place rather than many
2. It is better to manage your inventory with the most highly rated set of seller tools than to manage it with inferior tools
3. By virtue of their sophistication, existing webstores present a high barrier to entry for small business types that want a great looking website without having to understand the finer details of design and HTML

For merchants that want to push $10s of millions through their webstore, those other sites would probably be a better fit. But for merchants that want to get started fast and use their existing inventory, I don’t think there’s a better solution than what we offer.

Our webstore development will not impact the development of features for Bonanza.com. You’ll observe that during Q4 the search and UI for Bonz is going to get a lot of attention and improvement. We plan to have our cake and eat it too.

CollectingTrends says: 09/12/14 at 00:02:46

1.Do webstores get promoted on google even without having a membership?
2. why can’t we pay the fee with paypal?
3. I think Bonanza members should get the costumery 30 days free trial to set up the design and see if it works for them!

bharding says in response: 09/12/14 at 10:26:43

1. Yes, webstores will be found and exposed on Google organic search without a membership
2. It’s on our TODO list
3. Also on our TODO list; in the interim, we’re offering refunds to anyone who signs up for a webstore and isn’t completely satisfied. Email our support team within 14 days of signup and they’ll get you your money back.

bellacafe says: 09/12/14 at 03:32:37

I like the fact that there are multiple forms of payment available to the buyer just like on Bonanza…that’s a definite advantage over some of the other webstores.

Eliray says: 09/12/14 at 04:20:43

Ok. Sorry. I thought my question was quite clear. But, ok. I sell address labels and invitations. Is there any place where my buyers can enter the information for these? Such as what they want on their address labels or invitations. You call it “Item Personalization” in your Platinum Level.

And, a free trial period would be great! I work very hard bringing in a profit for my business. Dropping $25 on something that may not work for me is not happening.

bharding says in response: 09/12/14 at 10:28:36

Good question, that one will take a bit more research on our end. Fundamentally, the webstore product page has all the same guts as the standard Bonanza product page, so there’s a good chance that the same personalization that works on Bonanza will work in webstores. And if it doesn’t, we will certainly add it.

CollectMisc says: 09/12/14 at 05:06:49

Everyone loves the “no fees” but how do we adjust prices in the webstore to entice the buyer? I read above that webstore items can not be revised separate from the booth but perhaps the ability to do a site-wide sale only in the webstore?

bharding says in response: 09/12/14 at 10:27:41

Not a bad idea! If we get more requests for it I could definitely see that getting onto our roadmap.

sharsgiftmart says: 09/12/14 at 07:28:11

Love this and will definitely want to do this Also would like to see some of the store themes that you offer.

RedbirdRidge says: 09/12/14 at 08:07:43

Is the Webstore item page restricted to only one photo? I noticed that bluepennylady and simplygarfield have only one photo per item (GREAT webstores, by the way!).

And…do you promise not to put the active squares around the images on the catalog or main product pages? (This is one of my main pet peeves on Bonanza, which is why I have been planning to eventually set up a webstore.)

In the Webstore, Bonanza will not be putting any of their banners or advertisements (such as the ones now on the top of Bonanza pages, referring to free shipping, Oprah, etc. seen by buyers not logged in)? Sometimes on Bing organic searches, this info shows up instead of the first words of the actual Bonanza listing.

Will it be possible to import listings from two or more booths to one Webstore?

Thank you for taking the time to answer questions.

bharding says in response: 09/12/14 at 17:36:28

Hi RedbirdRidge,

1. You can use more than one photo in listings and have them show on the product pages
2. We don’t plan to significantly change the aesthetic of the existing themes. And with more themes being added every week (we’re hoping to add one every day or two next week) there should be one that suits your tastes
3. We don’t currently have plans to allow multiple booths to be combined into one webstore, that would introduce some significant technical complexities.

Hope it helps.

a_new_golden_dawn says: 09/12/14 at 10:41:22

Why can’t we look at templates available without signing up for the free trial?

How much personalization can be done to the templates? Background colors? Text colors? Fonts?

Are we limited to 7 days per month for a sale?

We have a large Prostores website which we will be switching to another site due to Prostores closing. Prostores was connected to eBay but gave us the ability to have products on the website NOT on eBay or synced to eBay. That is important.

bharding says in response: 09/12/14 at 17:40:43

Strategically, we’re trying to keep our emphasis on simplicity, which means that we will pick the best colors for each theme rather than expecting the users to tend to finer details like background colors, text colors, and fonts. Each theme will have a different set of colors and fonts, so we’re hoping everyone can find a theme that matches their tastes, without the extra obligation of getting out the fine-toothed comb.

Looking at the templates without a subscription is definitely on the roadmap. I expect we’ll get that up sometime in the next month.

The limitation on sales is currently going to be the same as in your booth – 7 days per month.

It’s a fine line that we’ll have to balance between giving enough features for sellers to be effective vs. maintaining the simplicity that we deeply covet for this. When in doubt, we’re erring on the side of simplicity, which is why we don’t currently have plans to separate inventory between the booth and webstore.

EuropeanGoodies says: 09/12/14 at 10:45:31

WOW! If this is what I think it is – then – yup WOW!
Sounds good guys!

What I’d not be too happy with are ‘given’ templates.
Maybe your customers should be able to create their own?

Also, this is also MY question (from Redbird above )
Can I include the listings of all my three booths?
That’ll be important … kinda!

Good luck – if this works, you have a nice steady income stream. Cool!

bharding says in response: 09/12/14 at 17:42:54

I’m thinking that we’ll get a separate feedback site (like feedback.bonanza.com) setup for the webstores sometime next week, which will allow us to see how many sellers would be impacted by some of the features being proposed in these comments. Certainly, if it is a common theme that sellers want to combine multiple booths, I could see that happening.

Eliray says: 09/12/14 at 11:15:25

Best of luck to those that get the web store. I have decided not to.

SegundaVez says: 09/12/14 at 11:48:07

Will coupons active in our booths be active in the webstore too? Is there a way to do sales in the webstore?

What about categories? I notice bluepennies categories are not the same as the bonanza booth.

bharding says in response: 09/12/14 at 17:44:27

Yep, coupons apply to both webstore and booth. See my response below for more about the categories.

sharsgiftmart says: 09/12/14 at 13:11:28

Oh I forgot…categories was one of my questions. Would we have the same category setup as in our booth. Can we put categories on the home page?

bharding says in response: 09/12/14 at 17:44:09

By default, the categories listed in the product dropdown are the same as in your booth (whether your booth uses booth categories or generic categories), but you can also configure the product dropdown to only highlight certain categories.

You pick which categories are going to show up on the home page.

savegasbooks says: 09/12/14 at 15:46:01

Looks nice I already have my own domain name that I would like to use. Do you have a domain transfer feature or would I have to purchase an additional domain through bonanza.

bharding says in response: 09/12/14 at 17:45:00

You can use your existing domain, you don’t have to buy one through us. There are instructions on how to point it at Bonanza in our webstore setup area.

JMB7339 says: 09/12/14 at 16:21:35

I would need to know more details first – like the payment options that you state (for credit cards) – whether I am able to use them being in Australia. I am currently setting a merchant account up on my main website.

Would like to see more about the templates and designs etc.

bonanzamark says in response: 09/13/14 at 11:20:57

Current payment options are the same as Bonanza. So for now, as an International seller you will be able to accept the same payment options as you do on Bonanza. I am sure that we will be expanding payment options for International sellers soon. Stay tuned

TrendsAndStyles says: 09/12/14 at 23:25:58

To pricy for me…I will stay with Ebay stores…I pay way less than that and with no sales on this site…why would I want a Webstore?

bonanzamark says in response: 09/13/14 at 11:28:38

Options are good We hope that in time you are able to realize the advantage of using Bonanza Webstores in sync with your Bonanza booth (and our world famous seller tools) as a viable channel for your products.

It sounds like you probably have some great suggestions on how we can improve Webstores for all. If you have time please send specific suggestions to [email protected]

Thank you in advance.

JRMB7339 says: 09/13/14 at 12:00:56

thanks Mark – but that means it is only more of what I currently have – which is not an upgrade for me – so I will stick with just the booth I have.

a_new_golden_dawn says: 09/13/14 at 14:31:03

I would switch too from Prostores or another site IF I could 1)edit colors, pics and fonts, 2) have items not on Bonanza be on the webstore (those deemed too adult for Bonanza especially), 3) have ability to do sales for more than 7 days per month. Those things for starters.

I already have a platinum store here and I pay several times the $25 fee for my website. So I’m willing to pay for the options.

bonanzamark says in response: 09/15/14 at 09:47:37

1) We will be adding more customization soon with a “keep it simple” goal.
2) Good suggestion/noted.
3) Noted.

Feel free to send any additional suggestions to [email protected]

tomwayne1 says: 09/13/14 at 15:40:48

Bill, how about making the slideshow on the webstore home page automatically advance through the different slides? Maybe set a “timer” so it changes the image every 4 to 5 seconds?

bonanzamark says in response: 09/15/14 at 09:48:40

Our IE3 users would love that! Noted Sir Tom!

EuropeanGoodies says: 09/13/14 at 19:46:01

Um… Tom, your question above eludes me – don’t understand.

But I’d have a different wish/idea: What’s about a discount when paying i.e. for a year?
$225.00 for 12 months – or BETTER???
“Wenn mögeli?” – LOL – if possible.

And yes I’d like what Golden Dawn asked for too:
Have different (addtional) items than in the booth.
But I guess that might come way down the road.

bonanzamark says in response: 09/15/14 at 09:52:35

Bill mentioned above that offering free trials is on his to do list. For now you can request a full refund within 14 days of signing up (contact [email protected]). Additional incentives are possible as we develop webstores.

SegundaVez says: 09/13/14 at 20:59:45

Tom, the slideshow was moving automatically when I saw it.

New questions:
1. Why can I only see 20 products on the category pages and no page links at the bottom to continue seeing the rest in Sophia Maria Jewelry’s store? She has many more in her booth.
2. Will the “Share” link be available on the product page? Or is the “Follow Us” at the bottom of the page all that will be available? This feature is crucial! (personally prefer the line of links to the social sites showing instead of having to have the extra click on “Share”).
3. Can the redirect for error messages be the webstore home page or a webstore error page instead of the “Whoops. There was an error.” Bonanza site page? So the buyer will not be taken out of the webstore, possibly never to return. (Ex. When you click on Fashion Brooch/Pins you get an error redirect, not a collection of brooches and pins.)
4. Above you say our categories would be the same as our booth. Does that include subcats?

I really would LOVE to move my bigcommerce store that is similar to my booth to here. Fingers crossed that these issues are just because these are “Sample Stores”. Thanks!

bonanzamark says in response: 09/15/14 at 10:35:52

Hello SegundaVez
1) Good catch! That is something that we need to add and will do so quick like.
2) Sellers can add many social channels via their webstore settings (that will show on the item detail page).
3) Not sure on the redirect but will put in a request to find out (also reported the Whoops error).
4) Yes, that would also include subcats.

anchorhaven says: 09/13/14 at 23:18:46

I like the idea.
But, its yet another place to have to promote.
If you dont get any sales on Bonanza marketplace, why will you get sales on this webstore?
You again have to do all the marketing yourself with social media and pay $25 a month for the webstore.

Its a brand new url to have to establish in google, so it will take time to build the backlinks and drive traffic.

Are there amazing SEO tools with the webstore, that we dont see here on Bonanza?

I will be sticking with my booth for now.

biblioboy says: 09/14/14 at 03:25:36

Good Morning,
I love the idea and have been waiting for it/ One question What about backing up the web site in case a server fails, and I need to restore my listings?
Thank you,

Like our main site Bonanza Marketplace, Bonanza Webstores are also auto backed up so you need not worry about losing listings if a server fails (zombie apocalypse’s are another thing!)

OutdoorMisc says: 09/15/14 at 03:59:21

@TrendsAndStyles
I wish to address your post. This is a stand-alone sponsored by Bonanza. It is your very own website accessible from anywhere. The ebay store is not. The ebay store is similar to having a booth, only on ebay it costs money.
May I promote our new site here? http://collectmisc.bonanza.com/

Next Question How are the websites protected Such as SSL etc?

bonanzamark says in response: 09/15/14 at 10:36:26

All checkout and sensitive pages are secure

biblioboy says: 09/15/14 at 10:51:31

Hello Mark ,
I need to reassure my customers How are they are secure. Is this the same system used on bonanza booths? Will Their be a SSL cert tag to display on The website?

bonanzamark says in response: 09/15/14 at 10:53:40

That is correct, there will be a security certificate on all applicable pages.

TrendsAndStyles says: 09/16/14 at 00:24:14

Outdoors Man….the stores verses each other in sales…I really don’t care about how the store operates as long as there is sales…I have had very few sales on this site..so I am not going to invest more money into something that I don’t have money coming in to pay for it…in other words it needs to cover itself in sales…Sorry Bonanza but that is how I feel…I will see how other people react after a few months which I am sure other people will be doing..but good luck!

Tshirts says: 09/16/14 at 03:22:56

@trendsANDstyles you are correct.
We only have a sell every three months on this site.

taimaidh says: 09/16/14 at 04:07:49

Definitely tempting!!!!!

decoratewithlace says: 09/16/14 at 09:09:21

A web store sounds wonderful, and I wish all that are signing up for a web store the best of luck. I just do not sell enough on Bonanza to justify having a store. I am signed up to all the current paid advertising on Bonanza and still very few sales. There is just an extreme amount of competition out there especially with Google shopping, mega businesses paying top cpc to be at the top. Very hard for a smaller business to compete. I do love the concept of having a web store though.

mupdownman says: 09/16/14 at 11:14:04

I have created my webstore and love it! This is exactly what I need to branch out. I signed out of my store and acted as a buyer. Everything worked perfectly but I did not see a place to enter a coupon code. Did I somehow miss this or is it not available yet? Thanks!

bonanzamark says in response: 09/16/14 at 11:34:58

Hi Mupdownman, sweet! The coupon code field will show on the shopping cart view (same as the Bonanza marketplace).

whimseys says: 09/16/14 at 11:34:06

@ mupdownman, would you mind posting the link to your store?

I’m in the process of combining 2 booths into one and was thinking about a website then Bonanza offers this opportunity.

I will definitely be reading the posts here, but will wait to see more of Tom’s to do list before I make the leap to a webstore.

Thanks

mupdownman says: 09/16/14 at 11:38:44

http://mupdownman.bonanza.com/

Though I own my domain so I have a redirect. www.upcycledcouture.com

mupdownman says: 09/16/14 at 11:48:08

To be fair, I had been planning a leap for a while now. I have built up some social media, created logos for branding and registered my domain name. I had been sitting on it trying to figure out the best way to create a store and hosting and such. This is like a dream come true and it came at the perfect time. The thought of spending weeks building a site and adding inventory was so daunting I didnt think I would ever get it done. Now I can keep pouring into my business without hardly missing a beat. Just a day or two of moving more items over from Ebay.

whimseys says: 09/16/14 at 12:35:24

Thanks, mupdownman.

Ditto to everything! That is exactly what I’ve been doing and thinking.

ORANGECOUNTYSPORTS says: 09/16/14 at 13:41:11

THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN AUCTIONS?? BONANZA NEEDS TO ADD AUCTIONS TO THE WEBSITE AND LET SELLERS AND BUYERS HAVE A CHOICE TO BID OR BUY

ORANGECOUNTYSPORTS says: 09/16/14 at 13:43:45

THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN AUCTIONS. BUYERS AND SELLER WANT TO HAVE A CHOICE BUY NOW OR BID. BONANZA IS LEAVING ALOT OF REVENUE ON THE TABLE THAT AUCTIONS CAN BRING TO THE SITE

newandusedmix says: 09/16/14 at 17:35:58

Is the web store going to have its own email or do we need to use Gmail and Yahoo?

bonanzamark says in response: 09/16/14 at 17:47:03

You would use an independent email address that you can input on your webstore customization page.

newandusedmix says: 09/16/14 at 17:38:52

Is there a limit to the amount of products we can list on the webstore?

bonanzamark says in response: 09/17/14 at 10:51:41

Same as your Bonanza booth. 75k for basic accounts, 100k for Titans.

mupdownman says: 09/16/14 at 18:45:31

It appears when I opened the store it dumped my Amazon Payment Services info in my booth. Not sure if this is actually related or coincidence and something else happened. I saw all my APS info in there yesterday and now it is telling me that it will prompt me once my booth is updates. I made no other changes to payments or to APS itself.

bonanzamark says in response: 09/17/14 at 10:52:58

Your Bonanza Webstore will mirror your Bonanza booth.

checker-flag-trading says: 09/17/14 at 04:44:53

Checked out Blue Penny Lady and the overall design quality had very generic overtones with no real “Welcoming Front Door” presence(personal term). Bonanza’s home page for example.Very inviting, clear, clean and simplistic…Makes you fill interested and ok about “clicking on” to see more…That’s a “Front Door” unlike Blue Penny Lady where the home page resembled an old GoDaddy Store Front of the sorts. Just got “right into it” so to speak…I want to be “offered” a product and not “sold” one.. …Unless I missing the point here, and unaware of what a “webstore” today is supposed look like…Not so much as a “Website” but a Web-Store Front"?
My opinion and hope I did not offend?..Will say this…The concept of having a Bonanza Supported Webstore…100% spot on!!

Elizavella_Designs says: 09/17/14 at 10:08:39

how mAny products can we put in the webstore? and can we sell digital goods in them and would they be available to download?

bonanzamark says in response: 09/17/14 at 10:52:17

Same as your Bonanza booth. 75k for basic accounts, 100k for Titans.

You should be able to sell digital goods the same as you do in your Bonanza booth.

Oma'sPlatz says: 09/17/14 at 10:52:58

Curious about this issue:
I have an item in my cart on Bonanza from a seller I have bought from before. I just went to the sample webstores for bluepennylady, sophiamariajewelry and simplygarfield and on all three webstores said I had an item on my cart at the webstore. When I clicked on the cart icon, it took me to the cart page and showed that item from Bonanza in my cart and it said I was buying it from that webstore and not from the Bonanza seller. Is this a glitch? Does this mean checkout is combined with Bonanza?

bonanzamark says in response: 09/17/14 at 11:13:46

Sounds not normal. If you can email us the details to [email protected] (attn: Mark) then we will have a looksie.

Normal scenario would be for you to have items in your cart and when you select checkout it will take you to checkout items from that particular seller. Can’t imagine how it would be possible technically for an item from one seller to be assigned to another seller at checkout and would be willing to send you a bumper sticker from HQ if you can prove it

CChakurda says: 09/17/14 at 11:52:59

Will bonanza be adding social media ‘sharing’ buttons? I would love to be able to pin things from Bonanza onto my Pinterest account.

bonanzamark says in response: 09/17/14 at 13:28:05

Sellers can add many social channels via their webstore settings (that will show on the item detail page).

Abbysantiques says: 09/17/14 at 13:10:06

Will there be a section for store policies besides the about us section?

If our Bonanza booth is on vacation does that put the web store on vacation?

Is there a link for your terms (fine print) for opening the webstore or are they the same as selling on Bonanza?

What links to other sites can we put in the webstore?

Would you consider upgrading Bonanza stores to Gold as an incentive to opening a webstore. Had this and liked having the extra panels & listing options, but for some reason it was cancelled.

Oma'sPlatz says: 09/17/14 at 13:20:12

Ok, Mark. Email sent. Thank you for looking into it.

**update: forgot to say that was on Firefox. Did it with one of my other booths with Chrome and bluepennylady and it did it the same thing on the cart.

ToysAndTreasures says: 09/17/14 at 15:24:55

@omaplatz – I’m not sure why Mark needed a separate e-mail explaining the cart issue that you described. I was able to duplicate the problem from the details in your post. I just placed an item from crazyannie’s booth in my cart and then visited www.upcycledcouture.com. Sure enough, the cart icon showed 1 item. I went to my cart, and it showed crazyannie’s item being sold by upcycledcouture. Not only that, an item from upcycledcouture was magically added to my cart, even though I did not place it there. Mark, can I have a bumper sticker too? By the way, I am using IE.

bonanzamark says in response: 09/17/14 at 15:52:24

Only because I am lazy

I just could not believe it is possible! But…..it is…kinda. At least the text states “Bluepennylady” but the cart does credit the sale to the Bonanza seller. Programmers have it in their hot little hands now and should have it corrected soon. Thanks for the double heads up ToysAndTreasures.

ToysAndTreasures says: 09/17/14 at 15:25:32

More interesting stuff: I went back to upcycledcouture’s store. I went to my cart to delete the item from crazyannies’ booth. After it was deleted, this was displayed:

Your cart is empty

More items from Upcycled Couture

Below that were four thumbnail photos of items available for sale. Get this: TWO OF THEM WERE ITEMS LISTED IN MY OWN BOOTH!

bonanzamark says in response: 09/18/14 at 09:51:33

Good catch ToysAndTreasures. We have logged this and sent a report to programming so they can address. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

SegundaVez says: 09/17/14 at 19:08:34

Still wondering about my question from before:

Mark’s original answer was:
3) Not sure on the redirect but will put in a request to find out (also reported the Whoops error).

Any more info yet? It is still doing it. Its so important to keep buyers in your store. Please, please, please create an error page within the store.

bonanzamark says in response: 09/18/14 at 09:45:49

HI SegundaVez, no more info at this point. My guess is that it is not something that could be changed easily. However it is logged with programming so if it is possible then it will be strongly considered. Thanks again

mupdownman says: 09/17/14 at 20:30:17

toys I am glad you mentioned because when I was signed out and shopping in my store I was seeing “More items available from Upcycled Couture” and it was showing items from other sellers.

I was also going to request, and I know this is low on the totem pole, can we somehow title the coupon code box on the checkout page? I missed it earlier because I thought it was asking me to put my zip code in again. I know I can be a little slow but I am an experienced shopper and missed it so I am sure the less experienced shoppers would miss it as well.

bonanzamark says in response: 09/18/14 at 10:03:46

Thank you for the suggestion. We should have a dedicated feedback page for webstores, stay tuned!

MissesDresses says: 09/18/14 at 05:51:38

Might be a great idea for our dresses. Trouble is im 90% done with a website which im getting made by a developer. Cost a whole ton. Oh why did I not see this sooner lol

Elizavella_Designs says: 09/18/14 at 07:01:08

This is a great idea and I may open a store in the future when I get more of an idea how it all works out.

misskeech says: 09/18/14 at 07:49:45

Same thing with that happened with OmaPlatz & ToysAndTreasures happened to me. I saw 1 item in the cart, then when i hit it, it says 0 items in my cart, yet when i scroll down, there are 4 items, and 2 items are items I have in my other booth.

bonanzamark says in response: 09/18/14 at 10:04:22

We have logged this and sent a report to programming so they can address. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

dtunlimited says: 09/18/14 at 08:35:10

If my item sold from webstore, will it be deleted automatically from my booth?

bonanzamark says in response: 09/18/14 at 10:04:32

Yes

lou_lou says: 09/18/14 at 09:07:42

Since I am new on bonanza I will probably wait for a while, and hope it is kept simple for little me ,then if it looks appealing I will go for it. Finds good do far and fees by far are just so much better than anywhere making this now the superior site for sellers and buyers alike….the more I am on here the more I like it…hope I get my own store soon…Happy Days

Lovevintageandethnic says: 09/18/14 at 10:12:00

If I created webstore, will the items be edited and added automatically When I do in bonanza booth?
If so, will the edited / added items be imported to my webstore in correct category automically or anything I should do? It’s because there may have several different pages to categorise the item in the webstore.

Many thanks.

bonanzamark says in response: 09/18/14 at 10:40:39

Your Bonanza webstore will mirror your Bonanza booth.

SegundaVez says: 09/18/14 at 12:52:21

YAY!!! Just saw the free trial feature! Tried to take the plunge, but it did not “take”. Or if it did, I don’t know where to find it.
