When Last Season's Help Pages Just Won't Cut It

Hi everyone! My name is Reilly and I’m lucky enough to be a Happiness Producer on Bonanza’s Support Team. It’s a gift to have the opportunity to improve your buying and selling experiences on Bonanza. When things get tough selling online, it's easy to feel frustrated, and we're glad to be the ones who help make your time on Bonanza as pleasant as possible.

We’re always happy to assist with questions through our e-mail Support channel and we are grateful to be able to communicate with you there.  However we also understand that as an entrepreneur you sometimes like to find answers on your own time and that is why we recently directed much needed love to our help pages.

It is no secret that Bonanza is growing at a rapid pace. We have more than double the inventory we had last year and the number of users is increasing aggressively each day. The onslaught of items, new features, and shoppers had left our Help pages in serious need of an update. The Help videos showed a version of Bonanza (and of Bill’s facial hair) that hasn’t been seen or heard from since 2008. Many of the limitations we used to experience with features such as the eBay importer are no longer problems thanks to the hard work of our programming team. So, armed only with our keyboards and fervent conviction, the World Famous Bonanza Support Team embarked on a quest to update the Help pages to align more closely with the current state of things here on Bonanza. We invite you to peruse our Help section for information that might be helpful in using new features, such as the Background Burner Advanced Editing Tools:

Or Customizing your Webstore Homepage

So what's next?

As things continue to improve on Bonanza, we plan to add Help pages to better address new questions and concerns, and to enhance the Help section search feature so you’ll have an easier time locating the information you need. As always, we welcome your input. Any topics we’ve overlooked? Information that seems confusing? Too few photos of baby pugs? Send us your feedback, and huge thanks as always for your support! We wouldn't be us with you.

Hello, Reilly, and welcome!

I haven’t had a chance to check out the new help pages, but they were in need of an upgrade.

Thanks!

You should’ve made a highlight reel of the pages that hadn’t been updated since 2009. Hilarity would ensue.

Updating help pages should be done at the time new ideas and changes take place.

Here is a Help Page that needs updating, since the Home Pages are from HPLs and Collections that are created by Emma, not Bonanza users. http://www.bonanza.com/site_help/general/hand_picked_lists?layout=false

Thanks Reilly. Maybe it would be the time to also restore some of the old forums, they were really helpful for getting quick help. And it would cut down on emails to support. Tell Mark & Bill we PROMISE to be good!

I sure agree, Texas! I keep meaning to update/upgrade my booth but can’t get motivated. The forums tended to inspire me although I realize they inspired others to quarrel.

Good evening everyone, nice to be here, one question please, making a duplicate of the listings help to sell more? I made 3 to 5 duplicate of each of my items, is that helping or hurting?

Uniquely-Leks says: 06/16/15 at 05:13:58

Hi Reilly,
Not sure if this is the place but here are my thoughts. I have only been on Bonanza a little over a month. I was disappointed very early as the eBay imported was killing me. That has been resolved thank God actually thank your programmers for working that issue out. I have but one suggestion and it might be very easy to solve. As a seller when our new items are uploaded they are put on hold for editing before they go live. The bright green dot is faded on those items. It also is faded on any relisted item and I have to search all my items to find it. Sometimes that light green or faded green is hard to see especially for us old guys. If you could change that color to yellow or allow us to select items that need to be updated it would make that process 100% easier. Thanks for all you do!

I’m a buyer for 2 different Bonanza stores or booths. What I find very disturbing is the lack of communication that both sellers I have purchased from have. Not a thank you for your bizz, not your item has shipped nor tracking numbers…As a reseller those little detail, as may seems, are very important to me. I have a buyer on the other end to respond to How will I know that the item was actually deliver when promised without having to call my buyer? I have a responsibility to my buyer to keep them inform of the item that they spent their money on. I wish my sellers will have the same feeling toward me, their buyer. If this is the way most of Bonanza sellers handle their buyers/customer, I might as well find my items some place else. Sad, I was hoping to do more business here.

When I first signed up for Bonanza 3 months ago, I read a vast majority of your help pages to get me started. Some were a little confusing as the information I was reading was no longer relevant. Glad to see that you are updating them, which I am sure will be a lot of work, but will be well worth it for current and future Bonanza members.

In response to arc75 above: Every item I sell comes with a tracking number and I will always let you know when it ships and always thank you very much for your purchase because without buyers I am not a seller. Please do not base your disappointment with Bonanza on 2 bad sellers. There are top notch sellers out there please check us out. Thanks:)

Hey! In case the Bonanza Team doesn’t know this already….Reilly is your best!

XTruckParts says: 07/05/15 at 05:51:42

Reilly, I’ve run into a problem that I’m not sure how to work around … When I list an item in my booth and opt to offer “International Shipping – Worldwide” I am given only options to offer “Flat Rate” shipping, “See Item Description” for shipping details or, “Do Not Offer International Shipping”.
How can I possibly offer “Flat Rate” shipping on an item if I have no foreknowledge of where the item will ship to ? Obviously, if I am shipping any given item to different locations in different countries, the rate difference could be hundreds of dollars so “Flat Rate” is not a viable option.
The option to leave “shipping details in the item description” is a better option but is still rather vague in that there is no way to accurately show potential customers in different international locations what it will cost to ship that item to them. A better option would be to offer some sort of “shipping calculator” where we would be able to enter item specifics ( package dimensions and weight ) and a customer would then be able to see actual, calculated shipping rates of the carriers selected by the seller to their postal code.

As it exists today, there’s no telling how many sales have been lost because there’s no reliable and accurate way for me to list International Shipping Rates. I, ( and I’m sure many others as well ), would appreciate any suggestions you could offer on how to work around this.
