Since mid-may on bonanza - one sale, and turbo traffic gives only few views/day

I joined Bonanza in Mid-may, had one sale a week later, then signed up with Turbo – only few views a day. What is wrong here ? Can anybody give few tips please ?
Thanks!

I think of Bonanza as my own website. If i dont promote it, nobody will know I am here. My name is not “Ebay” or “Amazon” or “Etsy”, Anyone that sells online knows that most buyers will check out those places first, then if they dont find what they are looking for there, or want to see if they can find it for less, then they may google the item to see what comes up. That is when I hope my promotions pay off.

Have no idea what is wrong but I am convinced something is. I added the 19% advertising level with 4.1 million shoppers for a month or more and actually lost views. One or two trickled in every so many days. Pretty pathetic.

Removed the 19% advertising level last week and I am getting more views at 9% Basic level with 1.2 shoppers. Does not make much sense does it.

it doesn’t…my first sale I had the first week on Bonanza, on 3.5%. Using “turbo” gives me 1+ views a day, as a matter of fact 33 views since June 1, when I signed up with B. Should I wait till the end one month of “Turbo”, and only then to go back to very basic advertising, or I can do it now ?

Actually in a recent Youtube interview with Co founder of Bonanza, he recommends setting advertising level on 9%. Check minute 10:34.

It could be a seasonal thing. People are out and about, traveling, spending too much on traveling, food and Disney World. They are only online to show where they are, what they are eating, visits with the grand kids and mom bootin’ scootin’ at Mickey Gilley’s. ;)

very well could be, but with today’s mobile shopping, tablets, phones…

Yes, summer can be slow season for centain categories . I have been selling toys in Amazon for several years and between May and June things are kinda slow. I am new here and even though quite a few items. Can’t complain.

…even though it’s kinda slow I have sold quite a few items…

2 sales in the past 12 months, but my eBay sales keep truckin’ along… I’d don’t put much faith in the so-called “ebb & flow” theory or the million & one reasons/excuses sellers put forth like the weather, time of year, holidays, vacation, etc, etc. Bonanza doesn’t have traffic…

I was selling at least 1 or two items a day for the last 8 days. I Joined at the beginning of May this year. I sell toys and this is kinda slow season for me.
Than I jumped from 9% to 13% and now I am getting less views and no sales in 2 days. Previously I got 4 days of turbo traffic. Tons of views and no sales. If you want to be seen and sell nothing try Turbo!
I will give 13% a couple of more days and then going back to 9%. I wonder if the 13% option is best used when you have an account synced with eBay. Good luck!

is it coincidence…I got a sale 5 minutes ago! And you’re right on about turbo, although I got a whopping 33!!! views in 20 days of ’turbo-murbo" ;-), will go back to 9% when turbo ends.

Glad you got that sale! Keep listing!! Get more exposure before the Turbo ends. Good luck!

there is a story in Inna Steiner E-Commerce Bytes newsletter today about CEO of Bonanza, Bill Harding trying new tools for sellers.

that article referenced above is nothing but same old, same old…it’s nothing new…

I have pages for my booths on Facebook, still doesn’t reach many people. Of course not so many people sew anymore when it’s so cheap to go to Walmart or a thrift store. I sell a couple patterns a month usually. My other booth with collectibles & misc hasn’t made a sale in a year.

Aint that the truth!! I am SO tired of Chinese stuff and us loosing jobs here, I am starting to make my own clothing again. I know it may not do much to help, but at least I know I feel better about knowing I did not buy it from some other country.

do you do any crafts shows, art festivals ? there are thousands of them in US. Me and my wife used to do them on a weekly basis, from Toronto all the east coast of US down to Florida in winter.

Honestly you don’t really need any extras on here & when I briefly changed the advertising level to slightly higher there was literally no change or increase in views at all it did nothing. Best bet is to continue listing as many items as possible with professional looking photos & do as much self promotion as possible. Best of luck to you!

Best overall advice. I agree. Keep listing!!!!

mrdutch1001 says: June 20, 2016

I agree the advertising levels on Bonaza are a joke – have tried all levels…and the higher I went the less views I got…

mrdutch1001 says: June 20, 2016

The past 30 days = 52 views //0 sales since first week of April using advertising //500 to 1300 items at any given time, depending on what is listed on eBay…so glad I am still selling on eBay!

ZeePoster says: June 20, 2016

listing continuously is the best tool. And yes, Bonanza advertising “tools” are really useless, except for Google. From all other places ZERO views. Hopefully CEO creates something to boost traffic. 240,000 visitors a month is only 8000 a day. This is a drop in a bucket.

mrdutch1001 says: June 21, 2016

Since Bonanza has done little in the past 5 years to boost traffic, I don’t expect that to change in the future.
