I have a really old dispute with paypal (not a customer dispute but rather one with the company itself), and I noticed that it says Braintree is a paypal company. I want to expand and update my booth with direct checkout, but I’m afraid to apply for Braintree. Will my old business dispute with the paypal corporation be an issue signing up? and does Braintree share my application info with other departments at paypal? I am a fraud victim. It happened many years ago but was never resolved. I would love to expand business here but I’m afraid to give them my info again.

I don’t think that it will be an issue since using Bonanza’s direct payment method (which goes through Braintree) means that you don’t get the money until after the item has been verified as delivered. This automatic holding period is built into the credit card acceptance agreement. In addition, companies usually have issues keeping their own records in order. I doubt that there is any account comparison between PayPal and Braintree.
