(N) Vintage Fisher Price Play Family #952 Yellow House Comp.with Wooden LP Bonus and Box/NEAR MINT---MINT! (N) (More photos below) Just like Dorothy said in the "Wizard of Oz," "There's no place like home, there's no place like home...." Revisit for yourself the CLASSIC Fisher Price Play Family #952 Yellow House play set. Produced from 1969-1979, this set originally consisted of 19 play pieces and the base. In 1980, Fisher Price re-configured this play set so that it resembled a brown, Tudor-style house. I have configured this #952 House according to the original 1970 Fisher Price specifications (see www.thisoldtoy.com). In addition, I have inserted a baby and several extra pieces of baby furniture to increase the number of play based opportunities. In my opinion, this set warrants a NEAR MINT-MINT rating. After closely examining and re-examining this base, I can discern the following "flaws" on the EXTERIOR lithos: 1. One, pin-head size blue dot on the far left hand edge of the main Fisher Price litho as well as light blue spot above the "F" in "Fisher;" I have already attempted to remove these but they are here to stay; as you can see from my pictures, these certainly do not jump out at you; 2. One, 1/2" L x 1/8" W rub on the house litho below the window above the garage door and next to where the house opens up for play; 3. One, 1/4" L x 1/8" W indentation or puncture on the same outside wall above the garage; fortunately, the litho is still lodged inside the indentation so it is less apparent; 4. Seven bubbles of assorted sizes (e.g. from 1 1/4" L x 1/2" W to 1/8" L x 1/8" W) located on the side wall of the garage. I just now spotted these; I had to hold the base up within 3" of my eyes and rotate it in the light before I noticed them; and 5. A faint "orangish" cast to the end of the driveway litho; I have already cleaned this litho and it is still there; I didn't even see it until I was cropping my photos; it definitely does not detract from the overall appearance of this base. The remaining EXTERIOR lithos are in SUPERB condition. They are smoothly and firmly attached to their underlying plastic surfaces. I cannot detect any bubbles, creases, marks, stains, fading, or rubs other than the ones described above. I can't emphasize enough I'm being super "nit-picky" here. Many of these "imperfections" are barely perceptible and I doubt if they even show in my photos. You have to be searching for them and holding the base up close to your eyes and rotating it in the light to perceive them. I don't want anyone to be disappointed by their purchase from me so I feel obligated to bring these "imperfections" to your attention. Remember, you're dealing with a toy that is over 46 years young! All in all, I would rate these EXTERIOR lithos as being in NEAR MINT condition. The INTERIOR lithos are similarly impressive (NEAR MINT- MINT). The floor lithos are flawless (MINT). After repeated examination, the only "imperfection I can spy are: 1. One, small bubble on the upper right hand edge of the white table in the parents' bedroom; 2. One, small bubble on the lower half of one of the curtains on the far left hand side of the kitchen; and 3. One, 3/4" L x 1/4" W bubble below the lighting sconce on the living room wall. These EXTERIOR and INTERIOR lithos are the BEST I've ever seen with one of these #952 Yellow Houses. You're not going to find one any better unless it's BRAND NEW and sealed in its original box. PLEASE NOTE: All of the aforementioned lithos are the original lithos applied at the factory. I occasionally offer replacement lithos for the buyer to apply in lieu of damaged lithos. I procure these reproduction lithos from a seller in Canada. For this listing, I will be offering a replacement litho for the play pen. I will let the new owner attach this replacement litho as I don't want people to think I'm doctoring original sets with reproduction lithos. I offer these replacement lithos free of charge to my customers. The paper utilized to print these reproduction lithos is a good quality "TrueBlock" paper with a sticky back. The ink is water resistant. I will cut out this litho for you. After the original play pen litho has been removed and the original glue removed from the plastic surface, all the buyer has to do is peel off the backing and then apply the replacement litho in its appropriate spot. The size and color of the replacement litho is virtually identical to the original litho. I will leave it up to the buyer whether or not they would like to replace this litho. I have included photos of how this replacement litho would look in the play pen once the other one is replaced. Once again, all of the other lithos are the original lithos applied at the Fisher Price factory. The plastic surfaces of this base are in incredible shape (NEAR MINT--MINT). There are no cracks, chips, breaks, repairs, stains or abrasions anywhere on this piece. The only possible flaw I can ascertain is a pin-head size rough spot under the edge of the roof on the side of the garage. This may, or may not, be a "ding." Noted strengths of this base include: 1. The door bell still rings and the garage door smoothly opens and closes; 2. The chimney is 100% intact and hasn't developed any cracks or yellowing around the edges etc.; 3. All four corners of the Masonite base are intact and free of any layering, cracking, smushing, or repairs; 4. The grass litho is perfect; and 5. Other than some faint surface scratches, the underneath side of the masonite base is pristine (e.g. free of any stains, marks). In addition to this base, this offering contains the following: 1 VHTF yellow staircase w/litho (EXC--a couple of air bubbles, one thin crease, and a repaired tear over the boot litho); 1 RARE white coffee table (EXC-NEAR MINT--a few faint surface scratches on top of the table); 4 SUPER RARE brown captain's chairs, three of which have dots on the back of the chair and one with a triangle on the back (3 are in EXC condition-minor edge wear on the front of the seat; FYI, the chairs with the dots on the back are the oldest of the chairs that Fisher Price made; one of the dot chairs has stress fracture/crack where the right arm rest conjoins with the side of the chair; I will be repairing this so the crack does not progress; I would rank this chair as being in VG-VG condition; once it's repaired, it will match the other chairs---EXC); 1 RARE yellow double bed w/out original foam (NEAR MINT-MINT---due to dry rot, I have removed the vestiges of the original foam and replaced it with a firm, tan foam mattress; I have not glued this foam in place in case the new owner wishes to remove it and exchange it for something else); 2 RARE yellow single beds w/out any traces of the original foam (VG--once again, I have inserted some firm, tan foam in lieu of this missing foam; one bed displays some roughness on the top of the footboard and one, pin-head size green dot on the edge of the headboard; I've scrubbed this with everything at my disposal and it will not come off; the other twin bed has a small brown stain on the corner of the footboard along with several "dings;" the upper right hand rail of the bed similarly displays some roughness/"dings"); 2 RARE white stuffed chairs (MINT); 1 RARE brown table (VG--some light scratches and minor edge wear around the top rim and on the bottom legs of the table); 1 VHTF red/white single seater car with Fisher Price written on the trunk and with a "C" hook on the rear (MINT); 1 RARE, ALL WOOD, green bodied Dad with BROWN heat stamped hair, "belt," and metal rivet (MINT); 1 RARE, ALL WOOD, blue bodied Mom with blonde pony (MINT); 1 EXTREMELY RARE, ALL WOOD, blue bodied girl with red pigtails and metal rivet (NEAR MINT---pigtails firmly attached; couple of pin-head size areas where paint has lightened; this appears to be consistent with age; these pin-head spots are super hard to see); 1 RARE, ALL WOOD orange bodied boy with red heat stamped hair and metal rivet (NEAR MINT--has glue remnants around hole on underneath side of figure; I think someone may have had him glued into an ink printer's tray so they could display him without him falling out of the tray. I successfully scraped off all the glue on the bottom of the piece except for a thin rim right at the entrance to the hole); 1 EXTREMELY RARE, all WOOD, straight sided Snoopy dog w/thin, red disk collar and metal rivet (MINT--NOTE: I substituted this dog in lieu of the WOOD, straight sided Snoopy dog with a yellow, dot collar that originally came with this set; since I didn't have one of the latter, I inserted the one you see here in its place; FYI, Fisher Price originally called this dog,"Snoopy." You can see the garage door at the back of the house has a dog's dish with "Snoopy's" name on it; over time, Fisher Price changed the name to "Lucky"). To add to the number of open-ended play possibilities, I added the following BONUS pieces: 1 HTF white bodied baby with yellow bib (MINTY MINT); 1 HTF yellow stroller (NEAR MINT); 1 HTF aqua high chair (MINTY MINT); 1 HTF aqua/pink changing table with litho (EXC-NEAR MINT--some minor wear on bottom of changing table's legs); 1 HTF play pen (VG---litho has hole in it; I'm including a replacement litho for this piece; with the repro litho, I would characterize this play pen as being in EXC-EXC condition. This particular offering also affords its original box. While this box demonstrates some wear (e.g. mild corner wear, printing torn off cardboard on bottom of box, and extraneous tape), it nonetheless possesses all of its original flaps and its bright, original coloration. Although both ends of the box are open, it still displays well and serves as a reference guide regarding the pieces associated with this play set. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, I would judge this box to be an 8.5/10.0. There you have it! This would make a WONDERFUL set for a Fisher Price collector or some lucky child. Remember, this toy is NOT part of the recent Fisher Price recall. This play set was manufactured in the good ole' United States approximately 46 years ago. As this set contains small parts, it is NOT recommended that this set be given to children under 3 years of age or those who are still mouthing their toys unless adult supervision is provided. I have already thoroughly Q-tip cleaned the House and all its accessories. This set is IMMACULATE! This particular set weighs 5 lbs, 6 oz. UNWRAPPED. My city and zip code are: Lafayette, IN (47905). I will either be shipping this set via USPS Priority Mail or Fed Ex Home Delivery. In order to ship via Fed Ex, I need a residential address, not a P.O. box, and a contact phone number (e.g. home, cell, work place). Otherwise, Fed Ex will not accept the package for delivery.
