The loving cup has 2 handles and a square base. The raised design has 2 nude (or lightly veiled) women holding snakes or ribbons and dancing inside a heart. This is often called the "Snake Dance" design. The vase was made in the late1920s to early 1930s. L. E. Smith was famous for black glass during the Depression Era. It is Black Glass, but when held up to the light you can see a vivid red violet so it is also called Black Amethyst Glass. Size: It is about 7 inches high with a 4 inch diameter opening.
