I have read so many comments in this forum regarding low traffic on this website, slow sales because it is not well known, etc. & people seem quick to complain about it. But someone made a comment the other day that struck me, which was if individual sellers would promote Bonanza instead of simply waiting for someone else to do it, it could become much more widely known & more recognizable. I looked up the Bonanza Facebook page & liked it just searched for bonanza.com it comes right up.I am constantly adding photos to my own fb page with a link to my store here. I tell everyone about the website & people have always never heard of it. Why don’t more individual sellers promote this site? it does not matter what advertising Bonanza does if no one recognizes the name or if no one knows what it is or is paying attention to it.

Many of us have been for years, and continue to do so. Sadly it does not seem to help.

Hi Jewelsbelegance, tammiestreasures, and ArtistsUnion,
There are plenty of sellers who use Pinterest and Twitter to promote their booth on Bonanza along with traveling around to other booths and leaving a post that they have Pinned and Tweeted an item or two of a seller who they know or don’t know. I never ask for the Pins and Tweets, but I have had kind hearted sellers who stop by and leave me a note that they have promoted my booth. I can say that I have had at least 3 sales in the last two months that came from a seller I know who it was through her hard work that helped promote my booth along with sellers who I don’t know here that have made me sales. I am so appreciative of their friendships as well as sellers who I have not had communication with. If any of you are reading this I am sending out a big hug and kiss because I am appreciative for promoting my booth.
Also, there is a group of us that have joined Bonanza Friends Unite (BFU). We meet on Mondays at 4pm my time which is (PST), 6pm (CST) and 7pm (EST). We travel together from booth to booth spending 15 minutes at each booth where we chat, shop, pin and tweet anything we wish from each booth. Anyone can join. Contact Bonnie if you are interested, her booth is calico1953 she is the leader and who started the group. We would love to have you all. We need to all work together to promote eachother. There are ways as I had not had any sales for almost a year and I started making friends here and we all help eachother, but we also have other sites outside of Bonanza to help promote as well. I can say I am finally selling due to me communicating with other sellers and all of using pulling together and making Bonanza known.
Hope this information helps! You may contact me anytime you wish.
Have a great day!
Rita

I main problem with bonanza is there is not enough SELLERS. You can doubt this till you are blue in the face. But i spend thousands a year on line buying.I buy everything from kids and womans clothes ,shoes ,jewelery ,car parts lawn and garden and even cars the list goes on and
many times i can not find these things on bonanza.
Search engine brings buyers and sellers bring the search engine

I’ve been on Bonanza since they started. I use to promote them and for the first few years when it was Bonanzle, sales were good and there were lots of buyers. But after it became Bonanza things changed. No one seemed to care – support got worse, the staff kept adding stuff that wasn’t what the site really needed. Then they started changing the original policies. Several of us old timers came here originally because we could accept checks and money orders as payment well then they changed that and if we did not go along they put our booth on vacation so we could no longer sell. Well in the last month I’ve had 4 sales and my booth has been on vacation (put there by Bonanza) at least three times because I will not change my payment methods. So I guess Bonanza doesn’t really want sales. I was selling stuff but because I won’t change from money orders or checks I will no longer be able to sell here which is why I came here way back in the beginning and I’m not the only one this has happened to. My booth which had over 500 listing is now on vacation AGAIN thanks to Bonanza. As soon as I get time I will remove all my items and close my booth here since they don’t want my sales (over 100 in the years I’ve been here). I use to even have a link on my website to here and my website does a lot of business but removed it when they kept putting my booth on vacation. So now does that answer the question why don’t sellers promote Bonanza? Because Bonanza kicks it’s sellers in the teeth………

Some good thoughts above me. But may I add some more. Yes Bonanza is not a destination sit, But you can still have sales.
FIRST, You need quantity, Would you visit a story that had 100 items on there shelves, Brick and mortar stores stack it higher and deeper creating a mass display SECOND, Quality listings with good searchable titles and descriptions, THIRD, Sell the right items at the right price. Remember most of the time you are asking for and people are buying things they do not need to buy. Do not be the 100th listing of a item on Google and expect to sell. FOURTH, Make It as easy as possible for people to buy from you, Every one is in a hurry. FIFTH, Have a good sellers reputation. SIX, Use some advertising with Bonanza and else where, when and where possible.
My thoughts on selling on Bonanza, I am sure you have more

I have Pinterest boards for different marketplaces and if I compare pinning activity from many sites, the truth is that for some reason (?) Bonanza’s presence is less prominent than some other ones.
Here are my posts (from over 1 year ago) about joining “The Best of Bonanza” Open Group Board and promoting B. items on [URL removed]

Imagine, what a nice flow of Bonanza items we could have, if every member of each board pins at least one item per day…
The same low activity I’ve noticed in Bonanza communities on Google+.

I figure that my sales are in the toilet because I dont own a cell phone, I dont Pin and I dont Tweet and I dont Facebook period. I am sort of a private person and dont need to blab about my boring life and everything I do in my retirement all over the WWW. I came here because if offered a lot more freedoms than the evil auction site but now we seem to advertise on the evil empire rather than being the David against the Goliath. I wish I could give up the evil empire entirely but sales here (unless you pay to play) are not what they should (or used) to be so I still need to list there too if I want to sell something. I suppose I will stick it out here because it is free to list until sold and until something better comes along.
If you think Bonanza is not well known, I tried Speeditrade for 6 mos and that one was really an unknown and a ghostown with absolutely no sales. It may work for some who sell in certain category’s but not for all things that I sell.
Oh and frankly, I have never had an issue with support here like many seem to have.

this website is free & low maintenance. I have had sales here yes it took effort but its worth it to have the business. I never have to do a thing once a listing is posted so it doesn’t take that much time anyway. I am going to continue to follow their social media page & promote my shop as much as possible I am going to list as many items on here because it is totally free so why not. Thank you everyone for your comments & insight. Good luck to all of you whatever your endeavors (or where ever) may be. Best wishes :)

Besides bonanza I am also on etsy and a couple of other sites. I promote my webshops from time to time on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ but noone seems to be interested. My Facebook friends just give a like from time to time and this is it. My Pinterest board is virtually invisible and rarely visited. Besides, they state in their policies that you should not engage in self promotion. A club I’m following on Instagram gives each other likes but these are all jewelry makers under each other, not buyers. Same goes about Google+. For me it has virtually no sense to promote on a free of charge basis, unless with some budget to spend. Just my five cents.

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions

- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
