Question regarding sending and offer

Today I received a question regarding an item I have in my booth.

I answered the question and when I went back to review the message I discovered an area where I can send this person an invoice, (never seen this before.)

It is actually an offer, the customer has not actually bought the item.

I was considering doing this, but was wondering does the offer have an expiry date, has anybody used this and had results, or do people get upset??

Bonanza added this option a while ago. One purpose was to be able to send offers to buyers who are asking about combined shipping for several items. This allows you to send an invoice with multiple items and combine shipping. I don’t know if it has an expiration date, because it’s not like an official offer. I don’t think I would send one to a buyer just asking a question about an item, might appear a little pushy, unless they are asking for you to negotiate the price.

This is just my opinion, but-
I personally would not invoice someone for an item they had not yet purchased!
Way to presumptuous for me.
I would simply handle the offer the old way; either accept, counter offer, or reject the offer and correspond with the buyer if they encounter any problem.

If you send the invoice (I have sent one because the buyer was having trouble checking out on an offer…but the buyer never paid it), then you will have essentially 2 open tractions for the same item (the OBO and the invoice).

I cancelled the OBO, when the buyer could not checkout and sent the invoice…but truthfully, since it was never paid, and there are no open negotiations on My Bonanza page, I really do not know what happened to it…

As to expiration..there does not appear to be a way to set a date on the invoice, but there is for an Offer.

Good question and you may have to contact support for actual answer..

Thanks everyone for your advice. I considered and then discarded the idea. This person was only asking for measurements (which by the way were in my description). I provided the information and will let things play out the way they usually due.

Good idea! it’s not good to make an offer when a customer asks a question about one of your products.

I clicked on Send an Offer and I was take to my shopping cart. How do I submit and offer on an item>
