    PS - My avatar is my "baby" girl Lyla, whom we adopted from Pets Unlimited shelter in San Francisco in Aug. 2011.

    SF Animal Control brought her into the Pets Unlimited veterinary hospital at about 11 weeks of age. She'd been seized with her brother from a home where she'd been attacked by two adult dogs. She came into the hospital with a swollen face from bite wounds as well as 7 fractured ribs. They fixed her up while she stayed with them for 6 weeks before we brought her home. She's come along beautifully, is super energetic and happy, smarter than both of us (combined), and you'd never know what she'd been through. Oh, and did I mention, a handful?! ;)
